I know Carrie Underwood is crazy about her new husband, Mike Fisher, but is she seriously letting him handle the interior design of their new house in Ontario? That is true love right there. That's what Us Magazine is reporting about the new house Mr. & Mrs. Mike Fisher are building in Ottawa, where Fisher needs to be for his position with the Ottawa Senators hockey team. It must be so hard to choose where to live as a couple when both of you travel for a living and when your current homes are separated by more than 1,000 miles. I suppose they could've split the difference and set down their roots midway between the two, perhaps in Akron, Ohio, or Pittsburgh. But Ottawa won. Fisher apparently told Canada's CTV that he loves it up there and that "Home is where we are." Aw. How sweet is that?

All they had to do was make Carrie Underwood look even more stunning on her wedding day. Hardly an impossible task considering what a lovely palette Melissa Schleicher and Stephen Moleski had to start with. But it was hot, hot, hot on her wedding day, so they did have to keep her looking cool. They did so with a simple updo with curls and pieces and bobby pins. Then Schleicher, her make-up artist, gave People.com the scoop on her fabulous look from the day. The super secret weapon seems to have been the very lush, soft and full false eyelashes she wore. They were created just for Underwood by Moleski, from Smoke and Mirrors Beauty. Joe Don Rooney's wife, Tiffany Fallon, loves the line of faux lashes, as does E! star Kim Kardashian. You can get lashes almost like Underwood's on Moleski's site for about $22. No brand of mascara -- or prescription of Latisse -- will ever make your eyes look like this.

She was there to sing. OK, sing and maybe show off her brand new wedding ring (a diamond band by Jonathon Arndt). But when I saw Carrie Underwood on the Today show on Friday (July 30), doing "Cowboy Casanova," then "Undo It," I was looking past the ring to the rest of the get-up. Thigh-high stockings (or were they boots?) Blouse, necktie and mini sport coat? And hair extensions? I guess becoming Mrs. Mike Fisher hasn't turned Underwood into a housewife just yet. Between songs, she told host Matt Lauer what married life is like so far. "It's a lot like dating life. It's good. We're both very busy people and understand each other's life," she said. "So we're OK with it." Fisher wasn't there because he's up in Canada teaching kids at a hockey school. And she even took a second to comment on the buzz about what will happen at the judge's table on American Idol. Everybody asks me, 'You know anything?' I know what you know. I have nothing!" she admitted.

I know, I know. We should all accept who we are and what we look like and all that. But c'mon. Just for one minute, it's pretty fun to try to look like Carrie Underwood, especially on her wedding day. With this Hollywood Hair Virtual Makeover on InStyle.com, you can try on Underwood's updo -- complete with the tiara -- and perfect the look with all the tools they provide. You can even add makeup once your hair is done. You just upload a picture of yourself with your own hair pulled back in a ponytail, then add Underwood's hair, then you can make it wider, longer, move it around and even change the color. (Although I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that.) It's probably not the most productive way to spend a lunch hour, but it is a cool way to make a little daydream come to life.

LOL. Good one, Carrie Underwood. As if a few weeks off could ever do any harm to your flawless voice. Hahahaha. She told a crowd at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday (July 27) that she was kind of worried about getting back up on stage because her pipes might be a little rusty. If anything, it sounds like her whirlwind wedding on July 10 and subsequent honeymoon in Tahiti only made her sound more lovely. People.com reported that she breezed through her medley of songs and signed autographs afterward. "It's the first time I've sung anything since I became a married lady," she told the crowd. We all know she looks so good in love, and I have a feeling she sounds good in it, too.

Thank God for the real women of country music, like Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. That's what I'm thinking now after having just read this story in the New York Times about how "Everywhere you look, pop has gone Gaga." It concludes that there's a new feminism in pop music and how freeing the expansion of music liberation has been. But what it's really about is how unrealistic stars like Lady Gaga and Madonna really are. It's about Katy Perry's cupcake boobs in her "California Gurls" video. And how Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were all about their ostentatious image early in their careers. But to me, the unwritten story here is how real country music is.

Well? Which dessert did Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher choose? The buttermilk pie from the Yesterday Café in Greensboro, Ga.? Or the cupcake tower from a Nashville area bakery? No one knows exactly what was served after dinner at their July 10 wedding (except the people who were actually there eating it all and then signing non-disclosure agreements), but some stories out there have me wondering if maybe they had two desserts. One may have been this sweet egg custard pie made from an old family recipe and a whole lot of sugar, butter, buttermilk and eggs. And the other was this tower of about 250 cupcakes from Ivey Childer's bakery, IveyCake, in Franklin, Tenn. No offense to the buttermilk, but I would've gone with a cupcake -- vanilla with white vanilla buttercream icing covered with pearls and pink glitter you could eat. But what I want to know is, where was the chocolate gravy and biscuits Underwood told me she loved way back in 2007?

This story makes me think, what would a country artist do? Did you hear about what happened at the Kings of Leon concert on Friday night (July 23) in St. Louis? The band members were three songs into their soulful set when they had to end it because some crazy pigeons unleashed their excrement all over the musicians. (Guess they are the only ones who don't like the band's big hit, "Use Somebody.") But bassist Jared Followill got hit hardest with the poop, even on his face. "I was hit by pigeons on each of the first three songs. We had 20 songs on the set list. By the end of the show, I would have been covered from head to toe," he said. I'm sure the band felt bad. I'm sure the fans were pissed. But the venue knew there was a problem, so why they didn't set up some sort of awning or canopy is beyond me. Doesn't it make you wonder what would've happened if that had been a country star up there? If Carrie Underwood was under attack, would she have canceled? If Tim McGraw was up on stage, would he have grabbed an umbrella and gone on with the show? What do you think?

If you are heading to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.V., for the PGA event this week (July 26-Aug. 1), and you are a country fan, this is pretty much going to be the best week of your life. To kick off this inaugural golf tournament, native son Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Reba McEntire will be performing for attendees and participants at the new outdoor amphitheatre at the State Fair of West Virginia. (I think by "attendees," they mean that you have to go to the tournament and you can't just go to the concert. That said, you could go feign an interest in golf for a couple hours then head over to the show. Right?) The concert schedule has changed a little since it was first announced, so now Reba takes the stage on Wednesday (July 28), Rascal Flatts on Thursday (July 29) and the biggie is the double-headliner show on Saturday (July 31) with Paisley and Underwood. You get access to the concerts with your all-access weekly badge for just $147. The concerts are general admission, but still. That's comes out to only about $37 a headliner, plus a bunch of golf, if you're into that kind of thing.

So while Carrie Underwood is off soaking up the French Polynesian sun with new husband Mike Fisher, back here in America she's breaking records again. USA Today is reporting that her debut album, Some Hearts, has now sold 7 million copies. Which is reason to celebrate in and of itself. It's hard to even picture 7 million albums -- CDs or digital. But what that number also means is that she is the first American Idol winner to ever to go seven-times platinum. I'm not surprised, because think of all the hits that album brought us, like "Jesus, Take the Wheel," "Before He Cheats," "Don't Forget to Remember Me" and my favorite "We're Young and Beautiful." I wonder if she ever dreamed, back when she was just auditioning for Idol, that one day she'd sell 7 million copies of her first album and find out about it while she was hanging out with her brand new hockey-star husband.
