10 Songs I Wish I'd Written, Too
The Nashville Songwriters Association International held their annual awards ceremony on Sunday (Oct. 26) and part of the event was naming the "10 Songs I Wish I'd Written." The honorary winners, voted on by Nashville songwriters, are listed here. They're definitely all songs that I would be proud of writing (and enjoy getting a check from), but this got me thinking that we've all got songs we wish we had written - ones that hit real close to home. In no particular order, here are a few on my list, with the singer who made them famous. "Home" (Blake Shelton), "All I Want" (Darius Rucker), "Last Call" (Lee Ann Womack), "Country Man" (Luke Bryan), "Troubadour" (George Strait), "High Cost of Living" (Jamey Johnson), "She Left Me for Jesus" (Hayes Carll), "The Poor House" (the Boxmasters), "All Summer Long" (Kid Rock) and "I Remember" (Griffin House). What songs do you wish you've written?
