Martina McBride Crazy About Patsy Cline's "Crazy"

Posted: August 16th, 2010 at 9:51 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Martina McBrideNightline now has a segment called Nightline Playlist and they let the person they're interviewing do all the talking. In this story with Martina McBride, she raves about the music she loves for a good five minutes. She spends the first minute talking about what a career song "Independence Day" was for her and how important it was for her to not record fluffy girl songs or novelty songs. But then she goes on to list what's at the very top of her playlist from other artists. And they are: "Crazy" by Patsy Cline, "Mad Love" by Linda Ronstadt, "Respect" by Aretha Franklin, "Friends in Low Place" by Garth Brooks and "Somewhere Over the Raindow," the Eva Cassidy version. "I never get tired of it," McBride says of the song she sings so well in concert.

MD-This ones for the girls is a great song for supporting women of all ages. Agree enough with the high school songs.

It’s not “Country & Western Music”, any more. - I’ve been a C&W music fan, have listened to it for a lot of years.

Now, it’s nothing but 70.% rock & roll.

    Kurt.

I have been a “C&W” music listener for many a year now. - But it seems that “C&W”, music, is no longer “C&W”. - It now seems to be “Rock & Roll, etc.”.

    Customer.

Things aren’t always as they seem, kurt, unless you’r one of those who just listens to Mainstream music, and says good enough.

If you’re willing to do a little work for your pleasure, you can find any style of NEW Country music you want to listen to. Ever hear of artists like James Hand, Dale Watson, Wayne Hancock, or Ryan Bingham? Ever listen to Hot Club of Cowtown, Miss Leslie, Amber Digby, or even Merle Haggard (who has a new album out)?

Fact is, more than 90% of new Country muisc never gets played on Mainstream radio. If you want to find it, you need to start looking for it…. it’s out there in spades.

I need someone’s help desperately .. My mom died of a brain tumor in January 2000 ( when I was 17 years old ) . And I Remember watching CMT Music Videos , and hearing this song that REALLY touched me , it almost perfectly described my family’s trageic situation . It was sang by a woman ( I wanna say it was Reba , but I’ve been told that it wasn’t her . But I dunno ). I remember a lady sitting in front of a Vanity in her room , and she took her wig off , to show her bald ( beautiful but bald ) head , from where she lost her hair due to chemothearpy . Please someone help or point me in the right direction . My mom was my best friend ,and my sister , we were so close . I would LOVE TO HEAR this magically song . So it can help heal my heart . Her Birthday is today : April 6th , So I was going to try to play in in honor of her . ( Possible sing it Karaoke at a Local Bar this weekend in Honor Of My Hero ….. My Mom
