Another Country Music Awards Show Can't Hurt
I know, I know. You're probably thinking what I was thinking. The world needs another country music awards show like we need another song about cane poles and fishin' holes. But if you really think about it, how much can it hurt? It's not like a fourth awards show will diminish the first three. Those already have their niches. (CMAs = good times in Nashville, ACMs = good times in Las Vegas, and CMT Music Awards = good times celebrating the videos and not just the music.) So this rookie show, the fan-voted American Country Awards, will be in Las Vegas and will air live on FOX on Dec. 6. The producer behind it is the same one who does the Teen Choice Awards, so he was probably thinking he'd like to put some of that success on his slice of the country pie. And I'm thinking the more classy country shows we have on television, the better.

They’re all diminished now Alison. Even the industry voted awards have become a joke. Yeah, so what’s one more? How many pats on the back do these artists need? Why not have an awards show for every month in the year? Where does it stop?

Some random guy with no relationship to either Americana/roots music or the mainstream pop country industry is creating an award show so the whole world can vote and tell country music industry who the best country music artists, songs and albums are?
Wow, what a concept. Next we’ll hear how the Beattles started country music.

You mean as classy as this year’s CMT Music Awards show? We already have plenty of country music awards shows when you also factor in the Grammys and the American Music Awards. This fan voted award show will not last long.

I use to enjoy the CMT award show and it’s fan voted, but it was always, to me fun and entertaining, but I took the CMAs and ACMs more serious because the Peers voted on these awards, but now they have all turned into a popularity contest between artist that have huge fanbases…whether they are really talented or not. Now days anybody can sing and make an album as long as they have auto tuning and all the other technical stuff used in the studio. The real test, to me, was when the artist toured and how they performed live, but now it’s seems that a lot of that is doctored and believe me some artist need that to carry a tune and a lot of people know who I’m talking about. There doesn’t need to be another fan voted award show. Have a show where all the main awards are voted on by the industry so some artist can get the respect they deserve.

I’m so excited! I love awards shows, especially country awards shows! I love the music, the performances, seeing everyone together, & seeing who is nominated & who wins the awards!

Well, I complained there were too many of these shows even before they came up with this one.
Couldn’t FOX have come up with something new?
“The Dawson’s Creek Vampire Diaries” or something?
