Carrie Underwood Wedding: Mike Fisher's Hometown Newspaper Investigates
When you shroud a wedding in secrecy, all the world really knows is that two people are in love. That said, the world can still maintain a healthy level of curiosity about said nuptials. So some reporters from the Ottawa Citizen -- the newspaper in Mike Fisher's Canadian hometown -- set out to investigate the impending ceremony that will find him tying the knot with Carrie Underwood. What did they learn? Not a lot, although the wedding is supposedly taking place at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (July 10) in Greensboro, Ga. (That sounds like a good time because it's supposed to be rainy and 92 degrees in the area all day but clear up by the evening, if the wedding is indeed outside at the shore of Lake Oconee as reports have indicated.) The Ottawa Citizen story also says the Ritz-Carlton resort is surrounded by woods so thick it's impossible to see much. The reporters didn't make it past the security tent. But one after another, limos and luxury cars have been arriving at the local airport, which -- like the Ritz-Carlton resort -- is shut down to the public. Oh, and another story claims there are bales of hay here and there as part of an alleged country themed décor, but I find that report really, really hard to believe.

Being a Carrie FAN i wish her all the best, But it amazes me that when stars get married the last people to hear or see anything is the fans that get them there. Should have been a more public wedding. I still hot happy she is not marrying a full blooded american. Mike is ok but i am just wandering him being a jock what he will do after the honeymoon is over. Look at Alex Rodriquez.

they have to keep it secret - I think Carrie has made the right choice!

I am a strong fan for both Mike Fisher, a wonderful role model and a great hockey player, and Carrie Underwood, also a wonderful role model and great performer. This couple seems to be such a natural fit and I, amongst thousands I am certain, can only wish them God’s richest blessings and trust that their mutual love and respect will get them through both good times and bad.

Mike seems to be a really great guy! Carrie is a good girl (woman) and I trust her judgment. She is well-grounded and intelligent, and she wouldn’t get involved with someone else who wasn’t.

Get them there? Where?? - you mean in love and ready to get married ??- how exactly did the fans accomplish being a part of Carrie and Mike getting married? Was it our decision? Did we introduce them ??- no a friend of Carrie’s introduced them. It’s difficult to pick and choose where the person you fall in love with comes from. We should celebrate when two people fall in love. I hope they have a wonderful life together filled with happiness and great things! They are both amazingly charitable people, kind, generous and thoughtful.
