LeAnn Rimes Eager for Summer Swims, Romance
I'm so excited that summer is here! The bbq's and mosquito bites have already begun! There is nothing better than the hot sun, long swims in the pool where you feel like you're turning into a prune, the sand, bikinis, shorts, lemonade, watermelon ... I could go on and on. I'm usually touring all summer, but this year I get a little more free time to myself. I'll still be touring, but not to the extent that I have since I was 13. I'm really looking forward to spending time with my family and friends. There's something about summer that brings on great romance, too. Love seems to be magnified! Maybe it's the heat that gets to your head and makes you woozy :) Whatever it is, summer just seems to make everything sweeter. What are you guys going to do this summer? I hope you all enjoy it, make beautiful memories with your friends and family and fall in love or fall deeper in love than ever. Oh yeah, and come see me out on the road. Summer, here we come!

I am not a fan of her. We Carrie fans did not like her negative comments about Carrie for not paying her dues when she started winning awards. She is jealous of Carrie`s success. But that is in the past and time to move on. Carrie just ignored the comments anyway and worked hard instead to show why she is worthy of those awards.

For someone who says they’d rather be out enjoying the summer and relevant music, 7 posts (so far) says otherwise.
However, I knew soon as I opened this blog that this same someone would be spouting off. Just remember, that SAME negative karma can come back & bite YOU too. I like Leann’s music, don’t condone her actions, but it is HER life and it is NOT affecting MINE so I say the obsessed could use some therapy.

You’re wrong that Le blows away Carrie…Le just blows. Why is it these Le fans have to bash someone to make Le look good. Carrie has been Entertainer of the Year two years in a row and it was Le who wanted to stand in Carrie’s shadow to present an award. On Carrie’s worst day, her career out shines Le’s on its best. Le has a good voice but she is a lousy person and her summer remarks are incredibly boring for someone pushing a new album.

And you’re right, I probably don’t care enough about what people in the industry do, you sure enough do for the LOT of us. Besides, the industry is not MY life. I enjoy parts of it yes, but I am not THAT invested to the degree of obsession YOU seem to be. I like Carrie, Kellie, Leanne, and MANY artists, but THEIR life is just that–theirs! Were I to make a judgment on you, it might well place you in the same category as paparrazi and stalkers. Is that really what you want people to think of you? Well all I can say is Leanne is DEFINITELY “relevant” because this blog is about HER, and much as one would care to say she’d rather be doing something else, is spending ALOT of time on here making Leanne more relevant. Hooray, gotta love it!! Like I said, I like the MUSIC of Leanne, Miranda, Kellie, Carrie, and others–what they do on their own time is THEIR biz. If people are really that dependent on what another artist is doing that they are going to emulate them, that says something about their lack, not the artist. People which have never made the effort to comment regulary in CMT blogs are posting not for some agenda other than the ongoing battle throughout civilization of right vs wrong, good vs evil. Doesn’t mean they haven’t always been around, their just part of the “silent majority”, speaking their opinion. Music is great, we all agree. Is the moral & values of society more important than music - I say yes, you may not! Is the oil spill issue more important than a particular artist’s humanity - I say yes, you may not. If LeAnn Rimes was no longer an entertainer, the music industry would barely notice and it wouldn’t skip a beat filling the void with new acts. I finally saw her video to Swinging and liked the song better with the video- more fitting. I don’t need theatrics, just good music, and I love J. Anderson’s version too- more fun & whimsical, not quite so manic, but again, it fits with the video.

bkb and countryiscool - There’s nothing wrong with not liking Leann’s performance on the awards show. That’s just a matter of opinion and you’re surely entitled to it. Not liking her rendition of the song is a far cry from commenting on her personal life. But let me remind you both that Carrie, another great vocal star has a video I’m sure you are familiar with where she has plenty of “theatrics”. What it comes down to is that people here enjoy hatred. It pumps them up and makes them somehow to feel self-righteous and the more people they can get to jump on the bandwagon, the more it pumps them up. It’s really very sick. But everyone hides here anonymously. There are no repercussions to saying things that they would never dream of saying to anyone’s face. I think of them as drug addicts. They need their hate fixes and the more they hate, the more they seem to need.

Why is it that those who voice their objections to LeAnn’s behavior are referred to as “haters”? They express an opinion and yet it is LeAnn who went after a woman’s husband and wreck not only a home but the woman’s life. JJ, I don’t go to many concerts, I just watch award shows & specials. I EXPECT videos to be theatrical, as they are more like mini movies, and I enjoy Carrie’s video, I also said I like the video to Leann’s version of Swingin, just not her live performance of it. When I think of the singing vs theatrics, George Strait’s character Dusty in Pure Country is what comes to mind. The theatrics almost takes OVER the singing, just let me enjoy the MUSIC once in awhile. Not EVERY song in a “performance” has to be manic with jumping around. I don’t enjoy hatred, I am not rallying AGAINST any artist here, I like most all of them.

Quality - it’s not that disapproving of what she did is wrong. I don’t like what she did. But I can NOT like it without attacking her, without calling her names like “ho”. I can be disappointed in her behavior without hatred. Try to read some of these comments objectively. They’re full of hate (although thankfully some have been deleted). What’s the plus side to hatred? None that I can think of.
Oh, and as an aside to the illustrious “Confu sed”. I took some time to explain my posts to you so you’d get it but now I see that your post has been deleted. They are the ones that, with great glee I might add, are her to stomp on someone (just because they can). I’m the objective voice. I’m neither a fan of Leann’s nor do I condone her behavior. Where were you guys when Alan Jackson cheated on his wife and they separated for a time? But then again, Alan is a well loved and respected artist so no backlash there. I can’t believe all the love and forgiveness bestowed on Johnny and June Cash all these years, when after all he wasn’t divorced from Vivian until 1966.
He wrote “I walk the line” in 1956 for his first wife and promised he would be faithful ( the song was not for June as the movie hints). Was this kind of behavior condoned in the 50’s and 60’s simply because of all the idolization that went on for singing artist and political figures ? Since the year 2000, I guess we’ve enter into the age of moral enlightenment wear human being are to be tarred and feathered or better yet subjected to witch trails.
Sure, it may seem like she’s twittering a little too much, but thats her life now and her fans have a special relationship with her as scene on her old web site forum . She is not acting out of character, all the info and conversations she shared with her fanclub (which only members can access not the public) is the same kind of banter on twitter. The fact that a 3 and 6 year old have fun, and like being with LeAnn and their father, says a lot.

The difference now is that LeAnn actually has some defenders. JJ you must be camping on this thread , 2 minutes response time to my previous post. I said this elsewhere, but I’ll say it again, because THIS is the point. All of you talk about “others” do this and “others” do that. What LeAnn has done is VERY different as she is the INFORMATION perpetuator and it is being done intentionally.
Other artists do have similar issues in their PAST. Here the issue is that LeAnn, in the present keeps tormenting Eddie’s soon to be ex-wire and her ex-husband with things like “our one year anniversary” when they were both “happily” married one year prior to this recent statement. And, her over the top selfish comments like “I’m sorry people got hurt, but I really don’t care because I got what I want”. She also quickly runs out and makes a music video featuring Eddie.
If she wants her private life to stay private then she needs to keep her mouth shut and everyone would eventually move on from it. It would show some level of remorse if she would just take ANYTHING Brandi had to say and be humble about it. But, she doesn’t. She continues to run around singing her happy little tune about how in love she is and how Eddie’s wife is a loon.
Other artists have gotten divorced and moved on to their next relationship. Some of those very likely started before they were divorced. They keep it private by not commenting on it no matter who else comments on it and they show respect for their former spouse. Blake Shelton’s word in an interview from last year when asked about his ex-wife said “she a great person and did nothing wrong - it was all my fault. She is a great person that I still care about and wish nothing but the best for.” If you have to make a comment or interviewers directly ask you, then BE RESPECTFUL the dividends pay back a thousand fold.
No one is perfect, but to use your fans and your access to public opinion to try to torment someone YOU wronged is only going to breed anger from people like me. I WAS a fan of LeAnn’s music for years, but this is not the first time I’ve been asked in the name of music to overlook her actions. This I won’t overlook until she makes it right (by shutting her trap).

From what I gather, Leann is twittering (or whatever the heck it’s called) people that follow her (fans). She’s speaking directly to them, to those that support her. Unfortunately, for her, she is now being followed quite closely by people with an axe to grind. Those people are taking her words and twisting them to suit their purposes which are to perpetuate the gossip. I say this again (and again); if you don’t like her music, don’t like her personally, don’t approve of anything she does, why follow her? Why continue to read the gossip blogs? You know…I shouldn’t be surprised that there are so many people who talk smack, but I am. I can understand not everyone liking a person, but your words and actions toward another are always, ONLY a reflection upon you, not on the other person. And I know there is a certain safety and annonymity behind spewing bile online, but in all honesty, none of you are perfect and if perfection is required before you’ll give love to another, then you’re in for a very, long, pathetic and sad existence.

And no, I was not in this relationship, thank God, and no, I have not been a “cheated” spouse.
