Country Fan Figured Les Paul Guitar Was a Gift
I've seen so many artists hand guitars to audience members, autograph them even, then walk away like it was a gift from player to fan. So does it stand to reason that anytime that happens, that guitar is yours forever? Not so. At a June 23 show in Duluth, Minn., Chad Warrix (formerly of Halfway to Hazard) was playing guitar for Randy Houser and was letting folks in the front row play his Les Paul Silverburst. (That guitar that runs anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000, depending on its age and condition.) Anyway, one woman thought it was a gift because she left the venue with it. After the show, Warrix tweeted, "Girl w/curly hair w/guy w/black cowboy hat, front row @Randy Houser/Grandmas show in Duluth. Silverburst Les Paul WASNT a gift! Return NOW!" She must've been reading because it sounds like she did give the Silverburst back to him. He later tweeted, "The positive power of social networking! GUITAR RETURNED! Thanks for everyones help. Innocent mistake on their part." In case anybody was skeptical, that ought to restore their faith in country fans.
