Chris Young Sees Seven States in Seven Days

Posted: June 24th, 2010 at 1:41 pm  |  By: Chris Young

Chris YoungLast weekend on the road was really a blur. I was in seven states in seven days and flew in to meet the bus after stops in Las Vegas, Portland, Ore., and Los Angeles. We had a great first show of the weekend in Kansas (even though I had zero phone service all day). After that, the guys and I had a show in Illinois opening for Rodney Atkins. The crowd was amazing and absolutely huge. I even wore an Illinois shirt onstage that I got as a gift before the show. To close things out, I had a show with Joe Nichols and Blake Shelton in Detroit. All in all it was a really busy, really great week. Can't wait for this weekend and my first shows on the Nothing Like This tour with Kellie Pickler and Rascal Flatts in Raleigh, N.C., Charlotte, N.C., and Atlanta! Hopefully no hazing will happen the first weekend out -- but if it does you'll be the first to hear about it! OH ... and if you leave me questions/comments here this week, I'll do my best to answer them in next week's blog. See you out there ...

So…when are you gonna bust out the break dancing moves during one of your shows? And where did you learn to do that?

No question really, but I just wanted to say I thought you were great in Detroit last week. You’ve gained a lifelong fan!

Ok, I do have a question, do you think you’ll do anymore covers? I loved I’m Over You, Swinging, & Rainy Night in Georgia! I’d love it when awesome signers do amazing covers on their albums!

My shift ended in time for me to catch your performance in Raleigh tonight; fantastic job! Oh–and for the record..when I suggested shifting sides on the golf cart, I was obviously concerned about your safety above anything else. If my weight caused it to tip over, you might not have made it to your performance at all (let alone done as well as you did). Best of luck to you!

Hi Chris! I do enjoy reading your blogs!
I do have a few questions for you!
Are you a fan of Lady Gaga?
I just wondering do you have an opinion about Nickleback getting airplay on CMT?
Would you someday do a whole album of your favorite cover songs and what songs would be on it?
Maybe soon I will see you again out there on the road!

    Chris,

I was one of the female bouncers that they had a Cowboys Arlington back in the day when you were singing there and you would always sing…”Must be Doing Something Right”. You were such a fun person to be around then. I am so happy that you were able to become what you have always dreamed of. I knew that you would do great and so proud of you. Look forward to getting to see you when you come to town again. I am so glad that you are on tour with Rascal Flatts. They are one of my favorites and now I will get to see you both this year at the same time. Best wishes with all that you do in your life. You are an amazing person.

We just saw you perform at the DeSoto Co Civic Center in Ms. It was the perfect way for my husband and me to celebrate our anniversary: I was able to see you in concert and my husband was able to see Eric Church. Not surprising for me, my husband thought you were great. You now have another new fan. Thanks for a great evening. May God bless all you do!
