Glee Needs Our Ideas for Season Two

Posted: June 18th, 2010 at 6:04 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Well, technically, they didn't ask for any ideas. But since season one of the primetime TV sensation is over and one of the co-creators of Glee admitted to EW.com they are in the plotting stages for the first 11 episodes, I think that's an open invitation to submit your thoughts. And I know what you're thinking: more country. Ryan Murphy says we can expect more musical tributes, adding, "The Madonna episode was so popular, I think I'm gonna do two tribute episodes -- one in the fall and one in the spring -- and we're figuring out who those artists are." Um, I know who they should be. Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw. Murphy says the show "is about inclusiveness and about giving voices to a lot of people." So wouldn't one of those stars be perfect? Underwood has the range of power ballads and tempo tunes to give the New Directions glee club some variety, and McGraw's song catalog has all the tunes the world knows by heart. If they did do an all-country musical tribute Glee, whose music would you love to hear?

An all country musical tribute? For a show that “is about inclusiveness and about giving voices to a lot of people.”

OK. Have your picks for mainstream, then add some Emmylou Harris for the Red Dirt fans, then maybe some Reckless Kelly for the Texas country fans. How about some Dale or Gene Watson for True country, then Rhonda Vincent for the bluegrass tribute, and follow that with some Hank Williams III, for the Outlaw crowd.

    Would that be “inclusive” enough?

Carrie will be great. They have a poll going if Glee will do a Carrie tribute and so far she is winning. But Tim would be great too. They are both talented.

How about a Glee program focused on students learning to drive? How about using songs related to cars, driving? Drawing from Country truck songs..Bob Seger.. Motown…The Beatles, etc. Baby you can drive my car, yes you’re gonna be a star….do-do -n- do-do…YAH!

Actually I was just thinking about how it would be fun to see the cheerio girls sing I’m a Cheerio Girl…(Material Girl) an episode where the conflicted confused girls under the ever so plotting name we dare not name sing an original song based on Madonna’s song….and Glee Club can find a song to sing and mimic as well about them being Glee Club…I dunno I like the Im a Cheerio Girl..even wrote my own version lyrics…LOL
