Martie Maguire Remembers Support From Cher
The recent issue of Out magazine is in, and there's a very open and honest interview with Dixie Chick and Court Yard Hound Martie Maguire. And when she thinks back to the Grammy Awards in 2007, she says, "You could almost look out into the audience and see the country faces that so wished you hadn't won the Grammy." But Cher has been a good friend to her. Maguire went to see Cher in Vegas for her 40th birthday, and tells Out about how Cher talked her out of being so bummed about getting older. "She talked to me for about five minutes, which seemed like an hour, about how she felt a psychic premonition that I was going to have the best year of my life. She said it was the best year of her life. She referred to meeting the love of her life and making two of her favorite movies she ever made. That was life-changing for me. I felt like I had a whole new outlook after that." And on a side note, the music Maguire's been listening to lately includes Ana Egge, Bob Schneider and Augustana. Interestingly, there's no Cher.
