Taylor Swift and Her Mom Cheer Up a Sick Fan

Posted: May 28th, 2010 at 2:19 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Taylor Swift and her mom AndreaAt a Taylor Swift show in Ottawa, Ontario, last week, teenager Nicole Lavoie suffered a medical emergency and had to be taken out of the concert. But before the ambulance arrived, Swift's mom, Andrea, came into a medical room at the venue to see if she was all right. When Nicole got to the emergency room, her cell phone was ringing, and it was Taylor Swift herself calling. In a letter to the Ottawa Citizen, Nicole's mother, Harriet, said, "This special singer took the time to check on my daughter's condition and talk to Nicole for several minutes about her country music to one of her biggest fans." Add this to the list of reasons why Swift has become such a good role model.

Not a huge Taylor fan, but good for her, I’m sure the fan was thrilled.

I’m not a Taylor fan either but it was nice of her to do this. I’m sure it’s something the fan will always remember.

Taylor is so nice I bet she would even try to cheer up “Hey!” if he/she got sick. Maybe she’d send one of those sparkly and happy Taylor Swift cards!

D Totter — can’t chear up someone wno lives to bash & tear down — too bad so many artists have people that say they r fans that act that way — not big on ts but this was nice .

This is exactly why Taylor is such a role model to so many. So sweet and caring. I think everyone can learn something from this girl.

I love when artists take the time to do this for fans. I think it shows their appreciation as well as just a good heart. Good job, Taylor.

Actually, actions such as this happen all the time. The stars are always willing to help under these type circumstances. Only difference, most most stars wouldn’t make a big deal of it. Another example of Taylor screaming “Look at me”. What a ham.

swiftcantsing…The girl was sick and went to the emergency room, Taylor called her. Taylor did not make a big deal out of it. It was the girls mother told the press. You are the ham.

More PR from Taylor’s camp. Shame on you using this girl’s medical condition. And who did we expect to write the blog.

Randy, and yet we see it here. Ever heard of a release? Alison was hired to write this, and guess who hired her…..

One of my favorite stories was when Swift — on Christmas Eve — visited children at her local hospital. No PR, no press, no cameras.

How did anyone finds out? A Doctor on the ward saw the way she lifted the kids’ spirits on the ward. He came onto to the CMT blog to say what a nice gesture it was. He wound up also chiding the haters for the kind of vile remarks they were making about a young girl who quietly gave of her time on Christmas Eve to make children happy.

At least Swift remembers the what it means to be Christian.

You got that right D Trotter….if more people would think this way the world would be a much better place.

LOL, sure, a Doctor did that. IN A BLOG. yall are so gullible. It was a handler writing the blog, making sure she was in the spotlight…again. Why can’t she do something out of the goodness of her heart? Oh, that’s right, everything she does is ALL ABOUT ME…. geez what an ego this girl has

Are you honestly being serious right now? Funny how Taylor does things out of the goodness of her heart and people still try to tear her down. Do you not have anything better in your life than to hate on a successful 20 year old girl? Sad..

That’s it! I’m out to buy both of Swift’s CD’s. I may not listen to them but I’m sure I can find someone to give them as a gift to.

Some of you people are really annoying!!

    Read this today

just wanted to point out what an amazing and mature person Taylor Swift is. I work at Walter Reed and she came in today and spent a solid 2 hours hugging, signing, and posing for pictures with every single person that had come to see her. She was genuine an interacted with each one seperately. She accomodated all of the various injuries and welcomed each of them like the heroes that they are. I heard you speaking with a band member from Gloriana about the service members we are treating here and you mentioned that you feel bad for them…you really shouldn’t. These men and women are some of the strongest and bravest that I have ever seen. They are being very, very well taken care of and most of them have an amazingly bright future. The sky is the limit for them all, they need support and encouragement, pity and sorrow will do them no good. They don’t feel sorry for themselves, so we shouldn’t either. I just want you and all the listeners to know that they’ve been to hell and back but they’re doing great and their support system is incredible.

swiftcantsing: Taylor wasn’t asking anyone to “look at her”. No one would even know what she did if it wasn’t for the fact that there was a thank you in the paper to her and everyone else who helped Nicole during the concert. Maybe you should see that Taylor is honestly doing things for real and not just for attention because she does have a good heart.

Taylor is an amazing person with a great heart along with her mom..the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
