John Rich Comes to Town … With Bikini Wrestlers

Posted: May 27th, 2010 at 1:48 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Somehow, between 1998 when he lost his job as a frontman for Lonestar and this week, when he debuted this video for "Country Done Come to Town," John Rich apparently became Hugh Hefner. But instead of throwing a lavish party out by the grotto at the Playboy Mansion, he's having it around the rooftop pool of his own Mt. Richmore estate in Nashville. Gretchen Wilson is there bartending, George Jones is there mowing the grass and the cream-corn-and-bikinis wrestling match is underway. Of all the genius songs Rich has written for himself and others, I'm not sure this is one of my favorites. But that could be because the video seems to send the message that in order for country to come to town, you need Gucci shoes, Ted Nugent and about 80,000 cc's of fake boobs.

Just when I thought John Rich could go no lower. He does. but I’m sure the mainstream crowd will eat this up but this may be even to far for them.

This is horrible horrible music and a mind numbingly dumb video. John Rich actually does have a lot of talent but he is using i very poorly.

Lame as usual, but as Debra said, what do you expect from John Rich? Gretchen probably really is employed at this point to be his bartender I bet.

Sometimes I get a laugh out of his antics, but mostly I wonder if he would do beter with medication to help his impulse control.

I just thought the music didnt match the video. The video is a regurgitated version of save a horse. Same small minded ideas from a very small minded man. The song didnt have the gusto or rhythmic rock that matches to intesity of the T and A video. this is a lame attempt to jump start an already dimishing career. I would call John Rich a has been if he had ever actually been something. Truth is this… We are witnessing a downward spiral of a man whho is trying to be some 80´s rockstar and coming off as nothing more than a damn fool. Such a shame, he USE to have potential

Lighten up everyone. It is not supposed to change the world, just be entertaining, which I find it to be. Different people have different tastes.

Im with Misty. this is something expected of John Rich and its it very entertaining. as a Country music fan i would say that this would not make John Rich any lower than he is cause he was never in a low spot. And if you were a Country Music fan you wouldnt find it Horrible or The worst ever. If you think John Rich is goin Downward then it seems like someone need to say something to Garth Brooks also.
