Taylor Swift Wants Stingrays in the Living Room
If you get invited to Taylor Swift's new apartment any time soon, watch where you're walking. She told People.com that she put some things in her living room that you normally wouldn't find in a living room. "Then there's a pond in the living room, as well, and I want to get stingrays," she said. "I don't want people to think I'm crazy, but wouldn't that be cool?" She's put so many creative touches on her first home that she and her friends have been giving the place nicknames like "the Imaginarium." When I was 20, I had big crazy ideas for my first little apartment, too. I didn't have quite the budget Swift does, but I still had the decorating dreams. So I'm happy for her that she can take all those youthful fantasies and make them realities.

Swift is a 20-year-old girl who has amazing talent, who has worked hard to get where she is, and who is one of the most positive, warm and friendly superstars on the planet. Feel free to dislike her singing, but anyone ranting about cheating and calling down the wrath of god on this absolute sweetheart of as young girl needs to seriously get a grip, seek help, whatever. It’s just music!

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail that is making its way around the Internet. It contains a link to a slideshow showing the horrific devastation of a flooded Nashville. If you love country music, the picture of the Ryman stage covered in muddy water will break your heart. The news-media has given Nashville exactly 15 minutes of news coverage, according to this e-mail. We hear that Taylor wants stingrays in her living room? That’s fine as long as they are not abused. But couldn’t we spend more of our time discussing something REALLY important with regard to the world of country music, other than the way Taylor intends to decorate her condo????? People died, people are without homes, the Ryman and the Hall of Fame are damaged, and the rest of the country doesn’t really know, or care, because Katie Curic or Brian Williams doesn’t seem to care. Couldn’t we care, just a little more?

I agree totally with PQ. Allison needs to tone down her Taylor obssession. There are more relevant issues to blog about.
