Taylor Swift's Latest Style Gallery
Is there anything that looks bad on Taylor Swift? In this photo gallery of Swift's styles from MSN.com, everything she is wearing looks spectacular on her. Everything. There is the sparkly tulle, the black turtleneck with lace tights, the embellished collar dress, the skinny headband with a wide belt, the white button down with a floral skirt, the sequined monochromatic navy blue dress, the little black dress with epaulettes and the swingy fringe dress. Then there is so, so, so much red. The white gown with a red lip, the red one-shoulder dress, and the sassy red dress with matching high heels. She looks so good in everything, but especially in red. The story promises to give you "tips to emulate her look," but it never really does. Back when she was just wearing sundresses and cowboy boots, she could inspire all kinds of girls to emulate her look. But these designer gowns might be hard for Swift fans to pull off.

hey - HEY! says:
every day is a fairytale …was the caption on the top of this gallery article..
yep - Looking good in everything is what Taylor Swift the model does!
Taylor is eclectic and does not stick to shopping at certain stores or boutiques.
She is electric during her Fearless Tour concerts also making at least 8 changes of clothing.
Pure and simple Taylor Swift is a trend setter - always has been.
D Trotter says:
I’ve heard Taylor sing with just an acoustic guitar numerous times m m— and guess what? She sounds every bit as good as her records, maybe better.
Not only that, those amazing crowds of 15,000-to-20,000+ she keeps packing into her concerts are ALL getting to hear her sing, are all saying the same thing: Taylor puts on a great show and sings superbly.
And there are also scores of professional concert reviewers (many of whom went to her shows expecting her to have pitch problems) — and even those critics are all coming away saying she sounds just fine, without any auto tune to help her.
ygrove says:
“D Trotter” Who are you trying to convince or persuade??We live in a cold world, and in the end, gimmicks and hype will not Keep your Star Shining,Hugging little Kids and being Sweet will not be enough, for every Star, the world waits for the fall, and Taylor’s Vocals will be her let down.True Glory belongs to God and he did’t bless Taylor with Great Vocals.Kids love her,so let that be enough.Trying to convince Grownups that they can’t believe what they hear is just Futile.
brittany says:
i love taylor and i think talkin drama is stupid ..so GROW UP AN GET A LIFE!! :]
Robin says:
D Trotter - She’s the marketing queen (deserves those awards). I hate her songwriting, but she touches teenage girls with her lyrics so she’s the writer of that demographic and deserves songwriter awards. But, no one on the planet is going to be convinced she can sing. Yes, people want to keep the gravy train moving. There have been many more talented teen angles fall to the ages once the demographic ages. Perhaps she can evolve successfully. Although, I don’t think her evolution will include country music. And, her evolution doesn’t appear to envolve actually caring about her vocal quality (which is a big part of her job). So, it’s going to be real difficult for her to evolve unless she takes a real hard honest look at herself as an artist.
Anyway, her clothes look great. I wish I looked as good in those cute dresses.

The other music channel has a poll on their web site asking whose performance you’re most excited to see on the Brooks & Dunn tribute airing this Sunday. Here are the results so far out of 1788 votes. It’s obvious that the fans on the other music channel aren’t as enthused with Taylor as some of the fans on the CMT site.
Carrie Underwood – “Neon Moon”: 57.6%
Miranda Lambert – “Hillbilly Deluxe”: 28.5%
Reba McEntire – “Indian Summer”: 8.2%
Faith Hill – “The Long Goodbye”: 3.4%
Taylor Swift – “Ain’t Nothing Bout You”: 2.3%
Randy says:
I am 55 years old and I love Taylor, her voice, her songs. She reminds me of the greats I grew up with.
D Trotter says:
“ygrove” wants to believe that Swift’s popularity is based on “gimmicks,” and that her star is fading rapidly.
“S” says out of 1788 votes (1788 votes! Whoo-hoo!) on the “other music channel”, Taylor is last.
Let me tell you, the channel broadcasting the show sure doesn’t see it that way.
When Swift hosted Saturday Night Live, its ratings reached a season HIGH and topped ALL prime-time programs on all major networks in attracting ADULTS, ages 18-to-49. (So much for the kiddies theory!)
“S”,What was that number again? 1788 voters?
Huh! Swift drew … an average of 6.8 MILLION viewers to SNL.
Last November, the Country Music Association Awards’s viewership ROSE to a FOUR-YEAR HIGH OF 17.2 MILLION VIEWERS … as Taylor swept the major awards, including EOTY.
Later that month, the American Music Awards SHOT UP TO A SEVEN-YEAR HIGH OF 14.2 MILLION VIEWERS … as Swift won FIVE awards including EOTY.
And the Grammy Awards HIT A SIX-YEAR HIGH OF 25.9 MILLION VIEWERS … as Swift became the youngest artist in history to win the prize award, Album of the Year. And it should be noted that the PEAK Grammy viewership average (28.25 Million viewers) … came during the half-hour segment when Swift performed.
Do I have to tell you that the streak ended with the AMC’s DECLINE to 13.1 Million viewers … in a year when Swift was shut out of any awards? The ONLY segment of the show which matched the previous year’s 14.8 Million viewers came when … yep, you guessed it, Swift performed her amazing “Change”.
And Billboard just announced that Swift, whose concert tour had charted high on the Hot Tours list 6 times already in 2010, earned the NUMBER ONE SPOT in ticket sales revenues for concert tours.
We’re talking April/ May events here, “ygrove”. When was this “fall” in the “cold world” supposed to happen?
D Trotter says:
Oh yeah, those ticket revenues — well over $8 million for TEN Shows, all sellouts, attracting more than 136,000 fans.
1788 voters, you say? Huh.
ygrove says:
‘D Trotter’ Time will tell won’t it?? History gives us lessons to learn from ,some do and some don’t,but the word rapidly wasn’t used by me.Some of those shows you mentioned survived before Taylor and Concerts have sold out for years and the world will still turn when Taylor’s star fades.By having all those numbers on hand,I really consider you a SuperFan,Good for you.
ygrove says:
Great jab at the ACMs,but one flaw in your theory, why didn’t her fans hang around for that one last award and how did they know she was going to be shut out?How did they know she was going to sweep those other awards?Maybe some viewers tuned in to watch some of the other artist too. Most of her fans don’t like Country Music is my Theory.Taylor does look nice in the Red dress……
hey - HEY! says:
Time will tell on everything there, ygrove…
The complainers and naysayers and the down with Taylor crowd have been saying for years (at least 4 anyway) that Taylor will not last - that her ’star’ will fade and that people will get tired of her. Wait till the next big thing comes along and Taylor will be pushed off her pedestal — well, guess what?
It isn’t happening and it will not happen….
I’m going out on another limb and I will state now - watch Taylor’s next cd release and I predict it will equal the sales of Fearless — now you know what that means… right????
If Taylor sells just as many cd’s with the new release in Oct/Nov - she will go on another award rampage and clean up at all the award shows just like in the past. Ya better get ready because it will happen!
Robin says:
D Trotter - Can you honestly sit there and say that her winning awards has anything to do with the ratings? NO ONE knows who is going to win before it is annouced. You think everyone suddenly says “oh no - Taylor’s going to loose - let’s not watch?” or “Yeha, - Taylor’s going to win - let’s watch”. You think they wouldn’t watch more on an award show where they can text their vote the same night and then sit there to watch their “sure fire win” not win?
The logic is not logical. Maybe the viewers figured her out at the Grammy’s and weren’t as interested. Looking back through the ACM’s and CMA’s the last year, the time frames the ratings went up were all the same. We don’t even know the performance order before the show. Why wouldn’t they watch at the beginning, not wanting to miss her performance? People that have a slight interest in a show, may tune in when their “favorite” show isn’t on. It all depenends on what is on opposite for those people that join and leave and join and leave.
D Trotter says:
Robin — I’m just reporting what I saw in two separate stories about the ratings. And yes, there is some logic to it. She didn’t have a new album out; the ACM’s have never treated her well; it was announced BEFORE the show she lost 2 of the 4 awards for which she was nominated; the show announced who will be performing and when; and MANY of Taylor’s fans have had enough of the hatred she gets from certain Country fans and may be turning away from the Country Industry altogether.
It sure doesn’t look like Swift’s fans — and Boy! Are there a lot of them — are leaving HER based on that just-released info about her top-rated ranking in concert ticket revenues.
laidback says:
Hey, D Trotter and Robin show with various guest stars this week. You guys are really entertaining. Keep it up - pass the chips!
S says:
D Trotter, the total votes are now up to 4212 and Taylor is still dead last with only 2.6% of the votes. That’s approximately 109 votes. Carrie Underwood is up to 65.5% which is approximately 2758 votes. That’s a difference of 2649. Taylor doesn’t seem to be quite the golden child on their web site that she is on the CMT web site.
S says:
The true test will be when the Brooks & Dunn tribute airs Sunday night. I will bet that Taylor will be the worst performance of the night and there will be a big discussion about it on this web site Monday. I will also bet that Alison will write a blog about the tribute but have Taylor’s picture on the blog instead of Brooks & Dunn. Or, it will be a picture of all three of them.
Robin says:
D Trotter - you are reporting on what “stories” (news or otherwise = people’s evaluation of the numbers) have said in their look at the same numbers we can all look at raw. The raw numbers are the news, not a story with someone’s comment on those numbers. There is no way her fans would have turned away from a voting opportunity. They would have wanted to prove those other two losses weren’t because the fans didn’t believe.
Her fans aren’t “turning away from country”. They were never country in the first place. I have not and will not sit her and say she doesn’t have a super huge fan base right now. Of course she does. But, her fandom comes from her pop (non country version) audience. The country fans are not buying into her anymore as a country artist. When I first heard “Tim McGraw” (recorded version) I thought, wow, this is a young girl with young girl songs, but it’s really good/catchy and I can’t wait to here more from her. The rest of her songs from her debut album continued to be country (although I figured out after her live version of “Tim McGraw” that she was no singer). Then her biggest album to date “Fearless” completely jumped the “country” horse. While I would certainly still call it contemporary country (only because she is closer to Carrie Underwood in way of lyrics than Britney Spears), she has certainly moved that contemporary country (with childish lyrics) much farther away from the country core audience.
So, S’s stats don’t show her “total” fanbase because her fanbase is clearly not fully represented, it does better reflect the pop country industry audience opinion.
There is no way that her winning or not winning an award has anything to do with the ratings of the ACM’s or CMA’s. Whether she wins or not, she was performing and no one knew the status of her EOY category and “THEY” had the opportunity to make it happen for her.
D Trotter says:
Robin, I think Taylor’s fans have most definitely swelled the Country Music fan base. Whether or not her fans, drawn to Country Award shows by Taylor, also became fans of other performers (I believe many did, based on comments from these pages), there’s little doubt they made the TV ratings higher.
You can Google the stories I’m talking about:
the Reuters.com blog “Taylor Swift snub bad business for Country Music awards show /Analysis” was all over the Web.
Most of the raw numbers I quoted come directly from there, and their Analysis was all about the impact Taylor’s success has had on these shows ratings.
The words “Analysis” or “column” or “blog” or “editorial” would probably be better choices than “story”, but the numbers/ratings ARE “facts”, and taken together, they form a consistent demonstration of Taylor’s impact and a very compelling argument for the writer’s hypothesis. Numbers don’t lie, and I’m not a big believer in strings ofcoincidences.
The other blogs were from headlineplanet.com, entitled:
“Taylor Swift, Pink, Zac Brown Outdraw Lady Gaga at Grammy’s”; and
“Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum Outdraw Carrie at ACM Awards”.
The latter report noted “Taylor Swift’s Award streak ended” but “Swift was hardly a non-factor during this year’s broadcast; her dramatic rendition of “Change” helped the 9-9:30PM half-hour rank as the night’s most-watched portion.”
Maybe you are right, Robin — maybe Taylor has fallen from favor with all the “Real” Country fans and will lead her followers off to some other musical genres. I’m pretty sure any number of her fans would be delighted to go somewhere else, go any place she leads. But she is very stubborn; when someone tells her something she can’t do, she usually has a simple response:
“We’ll see”.
