Keith Urban's Guitars May Be Ruined by Flood
Keith Urban called in to CNN yesterday (May 4) to give his two cents on the Nashville flood. And his take? "It's not good." He talks a little bit about how he couldn't get the trucks into the storage facility to get his equipment out for a recording session, and says, "It's possible that as much as I haven't lost what everybody else has, I may have lost all my road equipment, and all my guitars and amps." His gear was stored at Soundcheck, where he said Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Little Big Town keep their equipment, too. "We don't know to what extent the water's come up yet, we just know it's not good," he said. But most importantly, he adds that his situation pales in comparison to the folks who have lost everything, including their homes. He noted that the Nashville community spirit has never been more evident. With faith and hope in that spirit, I'm sure Urban will find a way to make music again soon. He's welcome to use any of my husband's guitars and amps collecting dust in our basement.

ILY Keith! He’s not stuck up about losing his stuff as some stars would be… like MILEY CYRUS and KENNY CHESNEY! He’s more worried about other people than himself. GO KEITH! MAKE ME SOME MORE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!ILYILYILYILYILYILY!

It’s so sad to hear about Keith Urbans losses. Material things can always be replaced. Keith is so talented. I’m sure he’ll play whatever replacement guitars, etc. he decides to play just as good as the others. I think he’s such a great performer. I think the happy marriage to Nicole will help Keith Urban through this really rough time. Others going through the same thing Keith Urban is going through will help him get through these rough times.
Hopefully sooner than Keith Urban thinks he’ll have everything replaced and happy again.
Marie says:
I heard him talking about on the radio and I feel terrible for him. He’s an AWESOME performer and a genuinly humble person who has over come so many obstacles in his life. Nicole has had a definate impact on his life and he will overcome this loss shining again! Love you Keith :-)

Hey Keith, My son is a Nashville guitarist. He works so hard and is so good. He’s been with Pam Tillis, Chely Wright, Sara Groves and Point of Grace. His studio basement was flooded in Nolensville and he lost several guitars and amps. But his two favorite guitars were in the same Nashville place yours were and he’s pretty depressed about that. He’s trying to say “others lost more” but I know you would understand his personal devastation. His name is Mike Bauer and he’s a great guy who doesn’t have enough insurance on his amps and guitars (they were all worth more than they were covered for). I don’t know why exactly I’m writing you…but when he heard your equipment was lost, he identified greatly and then he realized one of the places he also had his favorite
“strat” (plus one other guitar) was where you lost yours. That plus the basement loss really got to him. Between the water in his basement studio and the loss of the guitar he had for so long (the “strat” as he called it) he’s kind of in a spot because his new album release party (a CD he worked on himself for over a year) is this Saturday, May 8th at the Nolensville Seed Mill (also now known as Mama Java’s now) and it’s a scramble to have an amp and guitar to present his orginal guitar songs with his band. I don’t know why I’m writing you exactly…but you are involved with helping those who were hurt by the flood and I thought you would understand his situation because because your passions are the same…and he would never ask for anything. Maybe you could come hear him and encourage him. That would be wonderful. It would be such a blessing. It would be the perfect Mother’s Day present for me to give to him, his wife Kristin and my grandkids, Adelaide and Graham (8 and 6) if you could offer some assistance. He does not know I’m writing this. I just got up this morning and decided to send out a little SOS. We will all be at the Mama Java’s (aka The Nolensville Seed Mill) this Saturday for a 7 and 8 o’clock show. Thank you for reading this. God bless you for all you do. His email is bauerplay@aol.com and mine is above. peace & blessings, ginger farry (a worried mom and a fan)

It’s a shame about Keith’s loss of equipment and all the other artists that lost their things as well. Apparently Kenny Chesney’s home has been flooded up past the first floor.
Keith is such a stand up guy, so humble and genuine. I read where he isn’t only volunteering his talent with the Vince Gill telethon but is actually volunteering manuel labor by helping to clean out at the Hall of Fame. Many, many other artists are doing the same, they just aren’t getting the publicity.
I hope that all this devastation will not hinder the CMA Festival scheduled for June, especially since the revenue is needed now, more than ever. Everyone remember to watch the Vince Gill telethon today Thurs., 5/6 from 7-10 pm (CST) on WSMV-TV, channel 4 in Nashville OR go to WSMV.com. Donate some money if you can.
Richard Head says:
You know what, people died — who gives a **** about some rich guy’s equipment.
granna says:
Richard or Dick(do some call you that?)Keith made the statement that he had lost nothing compared to what others have lost. He wasn’t harpering on himself and he and his wife will be donating money and help. So stop your whining….btw, what have you done to help??
kufan2005 says:
I totally agree with you Granna!!!! Richard needs to get a clue!!!
timcun says:
TAYLORKELLIEFAN … I don’t know what you mean about Kenny being stuck up about losing his stuff. Anderson Cooper has a video interview with Kenny on the CNN web site and Kenny talks about his house and Nashville in general. He said that even though his house was flooded he considers himself lucky because the things he lost can be replaced. He feels worse for the people who have lost everything including loved ones.
Richard Head says:
Well, Granna (at least I had the courage to post my name), I donated money. And yes, it is easy for Urban and his rich friends to give of their wealth, it’s much tougher for folks on a fixed income (who give more than the rich do, BTW).
Like I said, people died — whether some rich jerk lost some insured music equipment means little. He was the one whining.
Richard Head says:
As you can tell I hate ANYONE with money. They should all give their money to the poor people. They shouldn’t be allowed to make that kind of money. Keith Urban hasn’t done anything for anyone, EVER. If I ever ran into him on the street, I’d tell him just what I think of him. Nobody likes him in Nashville, they just pretend they do. Then he gets involved with this telethon thing with Vince. What a jerk. Vince can’t stand him anyway, no one can.
Doug says:
People with money can have things happen to them too. We are all human and no one is immune to life, so things can happen, as many in the Nashille community have found out. Now they have some great subject material to write songs about.
Heather says:
DONT HATE WHAT YOU DONT HAVE!!!!!! Some people are obviously lacking in Class and Compassion , which are just a few qualities of Keith Urban. Keith has given so much to Nashville and contines to give, He is one of Country Music’s most giving artist. Keep up the good job Keith !!!! People like you is what this world needs more of . We love you and God Bless!!!!!!!
Lisa says:
OMG Richard…..Yes people died that is a sad part of life. Have you ever been to a Keith Urban concert he is amazing and sales his tickets at a lower price than most stars do. The last show of his I saw he sold tickets for 25.00 for those that had been hit with the bad econonmy. Nashville is lucky to have him. He is involved in many charities including St Judes. I think he is an amazing performer and a stand up classy guy.

I’ve got a 57 Les Paul Junior I’ll sell him
