Carrie Underwood Blogs, Message Boards and E-mails, but That's All
Nashville.com got to the bottom of why Carrie Underwood never does Twitter. She's been known before to call the micro-blogging tell-all site organized stalking. But now she says she does do some things on the computer, just not that. "I can do fan club stuff. I talk to them, I blog on message boards. But other than that, I'm not really very technologically advanced," she said. And you know how you're never supposed to Google yourself? And how gossip usually leans towards the negative? Well, it sounds like Underwood tries to stay away from reading about herself on the Internet, but admits it's hard not to even if she doesn't go looking for it. "I really try not to. I think it's impossible sometimes 'cause sometimes I'll go to check my e-mail, and I'm on the homepage somewhere. I'll just go, 'Aw, man'. But I really, really try to stay away from negativity."

Good for Carrie to just focus mostly on the positive aspects of her career and life. Negative comments can bring you down and affects you one way or another. Being in the business entertainment and public eye she is bound to get lots of attentions/criticsm either negative or positive. It`s part of the business. But she handles herself well and is proactive instead of reactive. Staying away from the negativity is one way of staying focused and grounded. I am a die hard fan and a very good role model. Rosyz - I agree with you. I think Carrie is just wonderful. Her voice is amazing and I’m glad she tries to stay away from the negative. It can be brutal, I’ve read some incredible things on these blogs and some are really hurtful. So much better if people would read about entertainers they like and avoid those they don’t. Carrie is very positive. She sings with a voice that is a God given gift and her song variety keeps me very happy.

I disagree that people should pay no heed to negative comments. Yes, its true that “Negative comments can bring you down and affects you one way or another.”
But some negative comments may actually have constructive criticism in them, and other negative comments may provide valuable information.
If I open a business, I need to know from both the customers who liked my business and those who didn’t if I want to improve the most. And Carrie has a business.
Carrie is a major star whose success is based in part on image. She - or someone in her organization - needs to know how she is being perceived.
Carrie need not personally read all the blogs and all the junk on the web but someone ought to be doing that for her.

Bkb You seem to have negative opinion about her, probably because you are not a fan . I know who is your idol is but that is beside the point. Believe and think what you want. It has been 5 years since Carrie came to country music and she was not exposed yet to whatever you accused her of. Do you know something that we dont know or you are just being a sore loser? When she auditioned for AI ; she was not pretending about herself. In fact she still very sweet and naive at that time; proud of being a farm girl who had never ridden an airplane nor had been to other far away places. Then, she won AI and the rest is history. She won many awards and broken some records. She has 12 #1 hit singles and the first country artist to do so. She has been a good ambassador of country music and good role models to her fans of all ages. She won back to back ACM EOTY and the first female to do so.
She is sometimes being perceived as a snub because she is shy , reserved and a very private person but in fact she is down to earth, humble, very generous,has strong faith and solid family life, who always look back from her beginnings inspite of fame and money. But slowly she started opening up and showing her personality. She is a good person. She is very successful and an amazing vocalist. I would say the best out there. All the reviewers comments always say what separates her from her peers is her flawless voice, commanding stage presence and physical loveliness and many more. So your opinions dont count at all. But I understand your negativity because you are not a fan but a hater. We Carrie fans are so proud of her success esp. she is on top of her game right now. So Play On BKB.

I need to learn to accept that Carrie will not please everybody and people will try to criticize or judge her no matter what. But we Carrie fans are proud of her and that`s all that matters. Hotelmotel, it may be important to listen to constructive criticism. But Carrie has plenty of opportunity to see how people perceive her. She puts in on the line every time she stands up in front of thousands of people.
And then there’s feedback she gets from the people who buy AND review her albums and concerts — both the “regular Joe”-type bloggers and the experienced professional music critics.
But there is one crucial difference between THOSE kinds of opinions and the comments on CMT boards: Those reviewers put their REAL names on their comments. They are accountable for their words, might even get sued for slander if they go too far.
But on these boards we get anonymous mystery critics who change their screen names every two weeks, who use multiple screen names, and who say anything that comes to mind — preposterous exaggerations, sometimes complete fiction — without the fear of repercussions from their words.
Who are these people? The Artists sure don’t know. Could any of them have an “agenda” — anything from a spiteful rival to a jealous ex-girlfriend? Who could tell? They are phantoms.
Sure, there’s a lot of regular people on here. There’s you. You never change your screen name.
But is it really you? Or someone using your screen name?

First of all, no one knows any celebrity, and I don’t believe anyone can “prove” how someone acts outside of the entertainment world. Anyone can say anything that want on the internet, but that doesn’t make it true.
Meeting your favorite artist for five minutes at a meet&greet or passing by them on the street is not likely to give anyone an accurate perception of what someone is really like.
Second of all, why does it even matter? These artists are paid to make albums, tour, and entertain. We all want to think they have obligations to their fans, but they don’t have to be polite or sign autographs if they don’t feel like it. It may seem harsh, but its sadly true.
Personally, I try to seperate the artist from the individual; if we didn’t do that, many of us would be extremely dissapointed in meeting many of their favorite entertainers.
From what I have gathred from Carrie, she seems to be a decent indivdual and has loads of talent. Many artists have been very complimentary of her as an artist and individual. Also, I have read a lot about Mike Fisher, and there is nothing negative about him in the press. Everyone says he’s a Christian man and very down-to-earth. I have a difficult time believing he would settle for a diva.

I think any artist should pay attention to their fans that both praise what they do right but that are also honest and tell them how they can improve.Carrie has really improved on her performance in Play On in Tour over what she did for Some Hearts and Carnival Ride.She’s a real performer on this tour she’s doing it as good as I’ve ever seen her and better a far cry from the Great Vocalist but singing stick she started as.This tour she’s a movin and a groovin along with being a Great vocalist.

Carrie has had a nice run in the industry, and she is pretty good, but here lately, she acts like she is getting the big head about all her success. That takes away from what and who she should be. Taylor Swift is a much better all round better performer and song writer. etc. She can do it all.
All Carrie does, is sing and try to be and act cute. Taylor can write, sing, direct, produce, etc. She is an all round great talent, and she doesn’t show-off, plus her close connection with her family keeps her grounded and professional.
