Kris Kristofferson's Raw Demos Show Other Side
Sometimes it seems like an artist's career makes a big creative loop. That's the case with Kris Kristofferson as evidenced by an upcoming album, Please Don't Tell Me How the Story Ends: The Publishing Demos 1968-72. The tracks are raw demos that Kristofferson made to shop his songs around to singers, and most are just him and a guitar. They even kept the conversations between Kristofferson and his recording engineer, which get pretty funny on "Getting by, High, and Strange." Interestingly, his latest music has gone back to this intimate one-man style, yet hearing "Me and Bobby McGee," "Just the Other Side of Nowhere" and "If You Don't Like Hank Williams" when his voice was strong and clear is almost like hearing a totally different person. NPR Music is previewing the album in its entirety until the May 11 release date, so give it a listen to hear how history can repeat itself.

Next album on my list. I can imagine that there’s nothing unamazing about this album. Very very excited for it’s release!
