Brad Paisley on Parenting the Second Time
People magazine's "Moms & Babies" section got Brad Paisley to admit that Jasper Warren, his second son, is his favorite son. Well, OK, he didn't say it like that. But he did say JW has been easier to deal with than his other child, 3-year-old Huck. "The second kid just kind of takes the table scraps and doesn't complain as much. They instantly feel their place. They're not the center of the universe so much," Paisley said. But I think both little boys must be little sweeties because Paisley also says parenting is a blast and a thrill a minute. "It's a sleep-deprived state of hallucination and utter joy. It's great," he said. Which makes me think of that line from Paisley's father/son ballad "Anything Like Me," when he sings, "He's gonna love me and hate me along the way/Years are gonna fly by/I already dread the day/He's gonna hug his momma/He's gonna shake my hand/He's gonna act like he can't wait to leave/But as he drives out he'll cry his eyes out/If he's anything like me."
