Jaron Gives the Back Story in New "Pray for You"

So why exactly is Jaron Lowenstein of Jaron and the Long Road to Love so pissed off in his "Pray for You" video? The one where he's wishing all kinds of evil things will happen to his ex? Well, enter the prequel. His brand new video for the song may be coming "after," but it gives you a look at how bad the relationship was "before." "This second-version idea? Not mine. I wish it was my idea. But Monte Lipman and Scott Borchetta came up with it," Lowenstein told me. (Lipman runs Universal Republic and Borchetta runs Big Machine, the two labels partnering with his Jaronwood Records). "I wasn't so sure about it. I was skeptical and hesitant. But they wanted to justify why a guy like me would sing a song like this. To answer the question about what happened to this guy, and why's he so angry, but in a dark way." As for casting Jamie Pressly (who plays Joy on My Name Is Earl) as the root of all evil, that was pretty brilliant. "She was not in the first round. I wanted my real ex to do it. She would've really tried to kill me in the video, and that would have been really funny," he said.
