Jimmy Wayne Arriving in Amarillo, Texas, During Walk for Homeless Teens
Jimmy Wayne has traveled throughout the U.S. on numerous concert tours, so the fact that he'll be arriving Saturday (April 3) in Amarillo, Texas, may not seem like an extraordinary achievement. The perception changes, though, when you realize it marks the 977th mile he's walked since New Year's Day on his trek from Nashville to Phoenix. Amarillo is the halfway point of his walk to raise awareness of the problems faced by homeless teens in America. Wayne knows about the problem firsthand, having been homeless himself until a couple in North Carolina took him into their home when he was a teenager. You can learn more about his Meet Me Halfway campaign by visiting his Web site. Meanwhile, you can see what kind of welcome he receives from the good folks of Amarillo in this live video stream running Saturday between noon and 2 p.m. CT.
