Carrie Underwood and Rock Band? Play On
Country fans already know and love Carrie Underwood and her "All-American Girl." But ever since Rock Band decided to include that track on their latest batch of downloadable content, I wondered what Rock Band fans thought of the tune. The forums on their gaming site are active, to say the very least. One thread devoted to the new content had 350 comments the last time I checked. Most players seemed psyched for the songs from punk band X, British garage rockers Little Fish, original Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley and rock band OneRepublic. But since this is Underwood's debut, a couple of commenters were unfamiliar with her and/or the song. But from what I could see, the overall take on her song was good: "This is super sweet. Definitely getting X and Carrie Underwood." And "Nice to see country singles making a comeback." And "Interesting to see Carrie Underwood on there, but I would've thought something like 'Cowboy Casanova' would mark her Rock Band debut." One fan, I'm guessing a man, is more interested in keeping the Underwood news a secret: "Nothing for me from this batch (please don't let my wife see that Carrie Underwood is coming. Please don't let my wife see that Carrie Underwood is coming.), but thanks anyways Harmonix."

It is nice to see Carrie added - I thought “Before He Cheats” would have been there a while ago - it s one of her biggest hits! I’m glad Country Music is starting to represent though!

Carrie is not copying TS at all but to those who dont like her think so. Oh well Carrie is in that band so get used to it haters. If you guys read the story behind it at least you will be reasonable. They decided to add her because they want to show the struggles of middle class American females of gendre roles(their words) and the father`s love and the song fits the concept. They also stated that it is the new American Pie of the new generation. So copying TS, I dont think so because the idea behind all this has in fact meaning and trying to convey a message and that`s why probably she was added amongst the rock band. But of course the haters always will find to say negative things about her. Carrie is famous too whether the haters like it or not and her music touches people`s heart and lives of all ages. Just like one concert reviewer said her voice is a gift from God. Indeed it is. Her influence as a person and artist is being recognized and also impacted some people`s lives. Her tour is amazing and fans are from all ages are enjoying it. But you haters pls. try to enjoy your fav artist success as we are with Carrie. Don`t let your consuming jealousy ruined your enjoyment.2010 is going to be an amazing year for Carrie. Way to go. Play ON.

Okay. So…tell me what’s so special about this news? Is this like a big honor or something? Children wasting their precious time in front of a TV screen playing fake instruments? No, Taylor did not copy Carrie. If she did, she would have auditioned for American Idol and allow 45 million people to judge her weekly by singing songs from all genres, and taking on some of the biggest and best chops ever to record a song, the way Carrie did when she WON American Idol. Taylor would also have blown it out of the box when she peformed on the Grammys, if she was interested in copying Carrie. I don’t Carrie is interested in copying Taylor. Figure out why for yourself.

That is what I meant when I said that Taylor was not copying Carrie, because she can’t. I was being sarcastic because I agree with you that Carrie was here first, but ALSO Carrie won American Idol because she can sing any song in any genre and sing it brilliantly (she doesn’t just sing her own teenage songs), and she knocked her Grammy performance out of the box, unlike Miss Swift. I have listened to country music a lot of yrs , while there have been arguments over different artists I don’t believe ny thing quite like the fighting between Carrie & Taylor fans . I have some GREAT memories of being a fan , 1 being meeting Minnie Pearl . I say that to give an idea of how long I’ve been a fan . No unlike some I don’t have great insights or what makes different things tick — just know what I like .

carrie is her own artist she’s known for her ballads because of her beautifull range in her voice, carrie and taylor are like comparing oil and water, they are so different in so many ways. if carrie was a copycat she would be singing about fairytales princcesses and fake lovestories, she’d dance around the stage swing her hair left to right, and she would sing offkey, and use a autotune microphone to enhance her voice…carrie DOES NOT IS NOT COPYING TAYLOR…IN ANYWAY FROM SINGING TO ENDORSEMENTS..”NO WAY”…why would she when her voice has the capacity to bless people with songs that have a meaning and she sings about “real life situations” why would she want to sing about fiction..or why would she copy taylor on anything for that matter when she is already an established artist long before taylor reached her star.
carrie is a supertalented vocalist and her songwriting is a lot more relatable for those who arent stuck in high school.
