Carrie Underwood Describes Her Style Evolution

Posted: March 17th, 2010 at 11:29 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Carrie UnderwoodI'm sure Carrie Underwood was born gorgeous. But still, this photo gallery from Allure magazine shows you just how far she has come since her high school yearbook photo. Of that one, from 2001, Underwood says of herself, "I mean, she's a different person, you know? She's -- yeah. It was raining and I was mad: My hair was a lot more curly than that, and it fell out." She comments on all eight pictures, like the Western get-up and straight hair she was rocking on American Idol in 2004: "Yeah. I'm sure they picked the clothes. [Rolls eyes.] My hair's in between. It isn't straight enough to just blow it dry and leave it; it isn't curly enough to just let it dry naturally and leave it. It's caught in the middle. But it holds a curl really well and it stays curly; I can straighten it and it really doesn't fuzz up in the humidity." And she tells the story of getting into THAT dress from the 2009 ACM Awards: "That dress was hard to get into, oh my gosh, it basically stood up by itself, so I had to, like, crawl in. I had to have people carry it. I didn't have to walk in it, I was stationary, but a funny thing happened afterward. The curtains were supposed to close, and then everyone would get on the stage to help me. The curtains never came down, so I was just standing there, and the host kept going. So I just started gathering it all up, and everybody started laughing."

Yeah!! Carrie has changed in a lot of ways but all to the Good.On AI she was puffy and not in the best physical condition as now which with diet and work out.She has become a physically better looking woman.and being exposed to the fashionista’s of the World she has developed a greater sense of high fashion and knowledge of what she looks best in.More she was more private and reserved but she ’s come out of her shell publically a lot more though still a pretty private person of her personal life which is all great.

She is one classy lady yet very down to earth. She does not pretend to be somebody else. I am eagerly waiting for CMT`s blog about her amazing tour which has been getting rave reviews. Way to go Carrie.

Carrie Underwood is so 2004. All these American Idol winners shouldn’t be considered real music artists just like Disney kids (Miley Cyrus, Jonas brothers) shouldn’t be considered real music artists. It’s pathetic that they need a tv show to get a record deal. Sure some of them sell a lot of records but none of them will become an icon like Dolly Parton/Reba/Faith Hill. Carrie Underwood will be forgotten in a couple of years. Heck, she’s already fading. Her last album fell off the charts real quick. Smart move on her part to get married. Now, when her career will start slowing down, she’ll say she’s “taking a break”. LOL.

    Me
That’s not true the fact is it takes years to get a country deal, which is part of the reason country has a hard time getting young fans. 20 year olds want to hear about being 20 the same way 30 or 40 year olds want to hear about being that age. If we didn’t have people like Carrie or Taylor who sing about being there age a whole generation wouldn’t have anything to listen to. And Carrie’s begun writing and producing she’s taken charge of her career and that’s a learning process. I think it’s greAt that shows and record companies give deals to younger people if they didn’t country wouldn’t have a future

Cassie - Let “Me” and her multiple personalities have their say. When people such as “Me” and her/his multiple personalities come to torment…just ignore. If they have no audience, they’ll crawl back into their dark little holes. Pitiful.

Poor ME and bkb-you must have been talking about Taylor Swift-being forgotten in a few years, Disney kids, country pop barbie, and let me add-couldn’t sing her way out of a paper bag. Poor girls-your tone deafness should disappear when you grow up and graduate high school. Taylor will have to write grown up songs and OMG whatever will you do?Carrie can sing and if you think you can survive 6 months of grueling competition and Simon Cowell-you are as childish as you sound.

Carrie is classy. She doesn’t play into all the crap that gets said about her. She just does what she loves to do and her voice is amazing. No matter what she does I hope she stays grounded. I hope she always remembers how she got where she is. Her faith is lovely and it isn’t something she throws at anyone, it’s part of who she is. Her style has evolved and will continue to evolve. That’s the way it works. ‘Play On’ is an amazing CD and she has such a great mixture of music on it. Congratulations to Carrie and keep ‘Playing On’.

WHO CARES WHAT PEOPLE SAY THEY ARE THE ONES WITH A PROBLEM…”CARRIE IS LIVING HER DREAM, HER LIFE THE WAY SHE WANTS,AND SHE SEEMS HAPPY”… I REALLY DON’T THINK THE NAYSAYERS MATTER MUCH TO CARRIE ANYWAY… IT MUST SUCK FOR THOSE WHO HATE THE ONES LIVING THEIR LIFE AND DOING WHAT THEY LOVE….THEY HAVE TO FEEL SATISFACTION BY PUTTING SOMEONE ELSE DOWN TO FEEL COMPLETE!

funny how those who hate her and cant stand anything carrie, blog about her and waste their time on someone they dislike…thats all they can do is talk about carrie in a negative way, yet it gets them nowhere..LOL

carrie is successfull, touring and selling out concerts, selling records, breaking records on the charts, winning awards, making a movie, and so on…her success must sting the haters like a bee…

    GO CARRIE !!
