Christian Kane of Leverage Tackles Singing Career
I don't watch Leverage. In fact, I don't even know if I have the TNT channel it's on. So the only Christian Kane I know is the new countryish singer-songwriter Christian Kane. The fact that he is an actor does nothing for me. Well, until I saw this funny promotional video he put together with his co-star and my first celebrity crush, Timothy Hutton from Ordinary People. So, if that piques your curiosity, you may want to check out his first five songs now available through your favorite digital retailer. Just know that the yearning, bittersweet love story song, "Making Circles," drops the f-bomb in the chorus. A better track that's appropriate for all ages is the one about how his girl is "American Made," or another one that rocks a little harder called "The House Rules." Kane's MySpace page calls his music Country/Southern Rock/Americana, but however you label it, his voice is so good that you just kind of get lost in it.

Kane is a marvelous actor, but is really interesting is that he is a singer. He is not a actor turned singer or vice verse, he is truly both. He is also not new, and he has had a very loyal, if somewhat happily crazy, fanbase for at least a decade now. He is great to listen to, because everything he sings comes from the heart, you won’t ever hear him sing something that isn’t true to him and that shows in his music.

Christian Kane is a great actor and singer. I remember when I first heard him sing on Angel. I was blown away. Kinda lost track of him for awhile but backtracked to movies and songs I have missed over the years. His music touches all - I happen to be African-American (nothing country about me). I keep his EP in my truck, on my laptop, and in my CD player. His voice is very soothing and I listen to him every night to calm my nerves. Thanks for the recognition for him. He definitely deserves it.

Thanks for reviewing Christian Kane… I’ve loved him ever since I heard him sing on Angel years ago… His southern-boy upbringing is really obvious in his music, and he does such a great job on every song. But you should check him out as an actor, too… He’s a killer actor and musician, and handsome to boot… Kind of like he robbed the gene pool. ;)

For those of you that don’t know Kane has had a 10 song studio album, and a live acoustic album he cut in England on a tour, out since the early 2000’s. The studio album is very good. After 5+ years of listening to it it’s still one of my all time favorites.
