I'm Not the Only One Who Gets Melissa Peterman
Even if you only know bits and pieces of Melissa Peterman as Barbara Jean on Reba, as the host of CMT's The Singing Bee, or her breakout role as Hooker #2 in Fargo, it would be impossible to not think she's funny. I think if you know her, you love her. And now that she has a new CMT special titled Am I the Only One?, premiering Friday (March 12), you'll see another side of her sense of humor. It's the side that everyone's talking about, so I know I'm not the only one who gets her.
Reba McEntire says, "I love her. Melissa Peterman's a hoot. We love to hang out together. She's just funny, all the time. Smart, very smart!" And Scotty Kormos, the drummer from The Singing Bee and a constant source of Peterman's flirtatious attention, told me that she has no problem poking fun at herself. "I think Melissa's comedy special will resonate with people because her humor is based in reality, everyone can relate to it. You can't script this kind of funny, it's the real deal," he said.
In these sneak peeks of Melissa Peterman: Am I the Only One? you can see what we mean. Watch her giving a tour of Nashville's historic Belcourt Theater where the show was taped. And trying, unsuccessfully, to get her credentials to even get into the theater's back door. And then opening up about the arduous task of working with Reba, what with the spitting and kicking and biting. If the show tomorrow night is even half as funny as the clips, it's going to give the world a whole lot more of Peterman to love.

She is fun to watch. She seems to be a natural comedian. Think she is pretty too.
Cheryl Wilson says:
We got to sit front row center for the taping of her comedy show at the Belcourt theatre. She is hilarious and really down to earth!! She is so sweet and truly loves to make people laugh. We were really impressed with the members of the beehive who was also there (Scotty, Bobbie and Steve dorf) They were super friendly and stayed until everyone got a chance to get an autograph and picture!! But like she said at the live show but it was cut out of the CMT show….”You think you can use me to get to Reba…..but actually I’m using Reba to get to all of you!!” Gotta love her!! And Bobbie just needs to learn how to share his umbrella on rainy nights!!!! HAHA!!
