Top 10 Tracks I'm Digging Right Now
Two words: Ryan Bingham. I know for some of you, he was all the Americana rage Before The Oscar (B.T.O.), so maybe I'm a little late. But after Bingham won the Academy Award with T Bone Burnett for best original song for "The Weary Kind" from Crazy Heart, I started looking into his other songs from the movie and beyond. While I'm not a fan of the moaning ballads, I do love his up-tempo tunes and his occasional use of the harmonica. But that said, it doesn't hurt that his roots include a really tough adolescence and some time on the bull-riding rodeo circuit. A life like that is bound to make for deep, heartfelt music.
"Gone, Gone, Gone"
"Don't Wait for Me"
"Dollar a Day"
"The Weary Kind"
"I Don't Know"
"Tell My Mother I Miss Her So"
"Bread and Water"
"Southside of Heaven"
"Roadhouse Blues"
"Wishing Well"

?”us”? Anyway….I don’t know if there is a “rage” in Americana Music. All the “rage” sounds so Pop Cultural;) How about it gang, do you think so? Lets hear from my Americana Maniacs on this issue;)
Mary W. says:
lol@Redmaz. When it comes to Americana Music I don’t think I have the urge to “rage” either lol,(unless it’s Rage Price, Rage Benson or Rage Herndon!!!!) but don’t forget Ryan is on Leno tonight! Lets all ‘rage’!!!lol
solongsowrong says:
I had the same thoughts about the rage thing too, Red, but I didn’t want to be hard on Alison. I figured she’s need a bit of a rest, after that jump on the bandwagon.
Kelly says:
Thanks Mary W. for the info on Ryan tonight on Jay Leno. I’m watching!

Honestly its more fun when Alison talks about the pop acts because more people tend to respond and also say stupid and or funny things.
Shadow says:
OMG!!!!! OMG!!!!! OMG!!!!!
I love Ryan!!!! If you don’t love him too and think he’s just the greatest, well then you don’t know country music like I do, and you’re just jealous of him! He’s the reason I started listening to country music!! He’s my newest role model! If he doesn’t win all the awards this year, the voting is rigged! I simple love this soundtrack, and I can’t wait until it gets re-mixed, then have some songs added later on, so I can keep buying it over and over and over again!! YOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR THE BEST RYANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How’s that for raging, Red?
Redmaz says:
Hey? that was pretty good. This rage thing is kinda creepy though. Sorry Alison, it isn’t working so far. But we will try and rage on for you.
solongsowrong says:
My head hurts after reading that one!
McKenna says:

i have his big face on my wall. Og RYAN BINGHAM i am your biggest fan. i keep playing The Weary Kind all over and over again. It’s like this year’s Decode (Paramore from Twilight).
hahaha that sounds weird…
Alison W says:
It’s all the rage for Americana purists to disassociate themselves from whatever is all the rage!
Shadow says:
If that means listening to All genres of country, instead of just the little bit that the major label industry pushes onto the masses for profit, yep I guess that would be me.
I also don’t stop in the mini van on my way home from soccer practice, to hit the drive thru at McDonalds, so I can be home in time to watch drivel like American Idol.
I learned my lesson a long time ago, with the hula hoop!!
