Love Goin' Right, Love Goin' Wrong

Posted: March 10th, 2010 at 2:25 pm  |  By: Link Ray

Taylor SwiftMaybe more so than in any musical genre, love reigns supreme in country music. And if you look at the wide range of songs that love has inspired, it's clear that country music has the unique ability to cover the complete progression of a relationship. To begin with, there's the excitement and promise of young love as Taylor Swift writes and sings about in "Love Story." In "She Wouldn't Be Gone," Blake Shelton covers a later step by rethinking his general selfishness and all the things he should have done to keep his mate happy. And as the events move ahead even more, country songs can commemorate the end of the relationship by taking the high road (as Dolly Parton does in "I Will Always Love You") or perhaps a more disturbing path (as Jamey Johnson sings about in "Mowin' Down the Roses"). Going through some of the memorable performances captured for CMT's Studio 330 Sessions, we've put together a video playlist we're calling "Love Goin' Right and Love Goin' Wrong." See what you think.

I’m sure glad there’s another picture of Taylor on the web site. I sure wouldn’t want her being ignored. After all, she’s the ONLY person in Country music today. I don’t know how Country music made it without Taylor. I think someone should post another blog about what she had for breakfast this morning.

Yeah, there’s only one person in the world that is sick of seeing her everywhere. BigBully, get your head out your rear end and taste the coffee.

Gee, looks like besides being a Big Bully, BB is also a “see-all, know-all” kinda guy. I can’t answer for the other 2, but I only have ONE computer, ONE ISP, and ONE screen name, but hey, if it makes you feel better to think that there just might be 3 (or more) people who don’t care for the TS saturation, go ahead & console yourself.

WOW - another blog that has to include TS - must be on CMT. I would add Why Didn’t I Think of That by Doug Stone, Who Needs Pictures by Brad Paisley, Look at Me by Alan Jackson/Carrie Underwood, I’m Not Supposed to Love You Anymore by Brian White and Drinking Me Lonely by Chris Young. Heck - I would also add I Get That All the Time by Due West as an example of Love Goin’ Strong!

I have attempted 3 times to post on this article and I must be on CMT’s blocked list or something. Taylor is over exposed and is under talented. She might be able to write songs but can’t sing. There are so many talented young singers that don’t even get half of what CMT gives Taylor. Enough please-the big mean Kanye is gone and let’s see if Taylor can write big girl songs instead of little girl songs since after all, she is 20. Let’s see if this posts-

See that CMT? No matter what you blog, it all boils down to TAYLOR SWIFT. The narrow mindness of you and your “country” fans is staggering. Pop country is truly a joke, but it sure makes me laugh!

GalPal — It’s not you. Sometimes my posts go right through and sometimes it takes 20 or more tries before it will post my message. And each time I try to post the message I have to change it at least one character or I get a message saying “you’ve already said that.”

Big Bully — You can think that countryiscool, Sis, and I are all the same person if it makes you feel better but I assure you we’re not. Not everyone agrees with your love of Taylor. There are a lot of people who listen to her off-key singing and don’t understand how she has made it as far as she has.

A guy named Andrew Garcia performed the Christina Aguilera song “Genie In a Bottle” on American Idol last night. Randy Jackson told him later that it sounded like he only sang three notes in the entire song. Just as soon as he said that it reminded me of Taylor because that’s what I think when I hear her sing. Well that and the fact that she’s flat and off-key.

Big Bully we’re not the same people. You might think it but it’s not true, which you can say whatever floats your boat. You’re just saying that because we don’t have the same opinion as you and you don’t like different people. Face it buddy not everyone likes her.

whatever gave the idea I like Taylor Swift? I never listen to Taylor Swift unless I want to. You are the people who listen to Taylor Swift all the time not me. I see you complaining about her all the time, so you must listen to her, why else would you complain? and to duhwhat I don’t get sick of seeing her. It’s my choice to see her or not, so maybe….just maybe You should get your head out of your coffee and taste my rear end. How’s that grab ya?

Nice list of love songs. Good selections by Taylor, neatly showing both sides now. (Oops! That’s Joni!) Here’s 3 more I love: Garth’s “The Dance”, Matraca Berg’s “Lying to the Moon”, and Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”.

Question: Is the Link Wray who wrote this blog the same man who, along with Chuck Berry, basically invented the ABC’s of rock guitar, with songs like “Rumble” and “Rawhide”, then gave us those great cult albums of the 70’s?
