Kenny Chesney Went Out Last Night
To quote his own song, Kenny Chesney went out last night. And one thing started leading to another. I don't know if he was hitting on everybody and their mother, or if people were doing body shots up on the bar, but here's what I do know.
First, Chesney and Steve Miller (of "Jungle Love," "Fly Like an Eagle" and "Jet Airliner" fame) taped an episode of CMT Crossroads in downtown Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium. They probably had all kinds of fun doing each other's songs for two solid hours. Then came the brilliant idea to sneak into Tootsie's Orchid Lounge for an impromptu jam session. So the guys walked across the alley between the Ryman and Tootsie's and snuck in the back door, because as Chesney said, "If you're at the Ryman ... and you want to do it the way the old Opry stars did, everybody knows it was out the back door of the Ryman, cross the alley and sneak in the back door of Tootsie's. Kristofferson drank there. And Willie, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline. If I was gonna show my friend what this experience was all about -- especially after a night as great as our Crossroads taping had been -- then we had to do Tootsie's!"
The story is that they took the little stage in the bar's front windowsill around 11 p.m. and played songs like "Fly Like an Eagle," "Take the Money & Run," "Abracadabra," "The Joker," "Rock'n Me" and even Hank Sr.'s "Mind Your Own Business." Oh, and they did do at lease one Chesney song too -- "Living in Fast Forward." The way Chesney described the night was one where "you could tell that everyone listening was suddenly 17 years old again and right in that moment of being young, being free and being so alive and in love with music."

Phillip says:
Man….did that ever suck
Sam says:
Phillip i don’t want to know what you suck. Kenny is great!
truthteller says:
Gee, Kenny’s talking about the old Opry stars — wonder why he doesn’t play the Grand Ole Opry show. Either he doesn’t get asked to do it, or he thinks he’s too cool to be on it.
molly says:
that man just turns me off, I love me, who do you love?
Phillip says:
Sam, why don’t you want to know? Don’t be shy. Do you like boys?
Granna says:
Kenny Chesney does not and has never appealed to me! Looks or music! Kenny needs to grow up. He’s 42 acting like he is still in school! However, I think I would have enjoyed Steve Miller!
timcun says:
I would have loved to either be at the Crossroads taping at the Ryman or at Tootsie’s when Kenny and Steve Miller just showed up and played. That would have been such a blast. I think Kenny is awesome!
