Top 10 Tracks I'm Digging Right Now
I took some friends to a bull riding rodeo this weekend. I know. A rodeo? In Chicago? It hardly ever happens, so I wanted to get my group in the mood with good country music about boots, chaps, cowboy hats, spurs and latigo. And just the wild rides in general. Some are about going to a rodeo, some are actually being in the rodeo, some are about dying during one, some about holding on for dear life and some are just about that cowboy way of life.

I have no respect for anyone who supports animal abuse, and rodeo’s are the most high profile form of animal abuse there is.
elizabeth says:
Agree with you on that. Also horseracing and circus animal acts.
Katie says:
What are you guys, PETA spies trying to infiltrate every corner of the internet?
Anyway, I personally just don’t care to be within the vicinity of animals, it’s just never been my thing, but I’ve always been curious about the rodeo. I feel like it would be an interesting experience.
Edward says:
Thanks for the top 10 list. The rodeo is just around the corner here in Houston. So, these are some good songs to check out.
Katie says:
The majority of rodeo is NOT abusive. I’m around the people who raise the animals, who supply the animals, and the people who ride the animals, and the animals are perfectly happy and healthy and are definitely not being abused. Sure there are a some rodeos that don’t operate that way, but there’s always going to be a few bad things in everything.

Bull riding is my favorite.

I agree Katie. These animals are treated better than some humans I know. Of all the rodeos I have been around, I have NEVER seen one single animal harmed. If an animal seems upset in any way, they are left alone and not riden that night. But like you said, there are a few rodeos who are different (I’m sure), but there are bad eggs everywhere you go.
