Nicole Kidman Tells She Her Family Is Her Priority
She may bill itself as a magazine for the women of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. But today, to me, it's just another great read devoted to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's life with baby Sunday Rose.
Kidman talks openly about why she's cool with being a mother at her age (42): "I've worked since I was 14 ... but now my priority is my family -- my baby, my husband -- and that's non-negotiable. I've worked hard enough -- and now it's all about resting and enjoying," she says. And how do Kidman and Urban stay in touch? Not with texts and e-mails. They write letters and hide them in each other's bags or under their pillows. There's probably a country song buried in a few of those, I'll bet.
Then when she talked about her recent trip to Italy, Kidman admits, "Sunday screamed all the way home. I walked up and down the aisle with her apologizing, it was awful!" What mother hasn't been in those shoes? And how funny must it have been for all those people on the plane who were thinking, "God, can't they shut that baby up?" and then realizing just whose baby it was.
But that nightmare journey aside, Kidman gushes about the day in and day out with Sunday, saying, "The joy it brings. The simplest things, Sunday smiling a toothless smile and then suddenly it's a one-tooth smile -- it's divine!" Even the pregnancy itself was a thrill: "It's why I'm glad I'm a woman. Men will never have a life inside of them -- it's why I'd never choose to be a man!"
Then she compares mothering a toddler to mothering teenagers Isabella and Connor, her children with Tom Cruise. "With Bella, I'm being someone she can confide in, while trying not to tell her what to do. With Sunday, I have to show her, teach her how to do everything ... It's really keeping me on my toes!"

Ah yes…Keith Urban damage control is officially in effect.
countryiscool says:
Love Keith, no damage control needed. I think the love note thing is cool too–old-fashioned and sweet. I still read my hubby’s, and love him more for them.
timcun says:
Mark … I’m not sure what you mean by that.
Personally, I’m so glad that Keith and Nicole found each other. They both seem so happy.

Granna says:
I was older when I had my first child and I can understand what Nicole means. I was more ready at an older age than when I was younger. I am so happy for Keith and Nicole and the love they share. Hope it always stays that way for them.
Melissa says:
I am so happy for all of them. I wish them a long and beautiful life together.

Damage control? The article is about Nicole Kidman and her love for her husband and children. Keith Urban doesn’t need any damage control, Mark. You must be thinking about someone else. They are a happy and loving couple.
Alan says:
I agree with Mark on the damage control. After he completely disrespected songwriters by encouraging people to illegally download music, I can see why Nicole and family is a good diversionary tactic. Personally I think the damage has been done to Urban, and this is the beginning of the end for him. Record labels and songwriters want to be paid for their music and will soon have nothing to do with him. I guess as long as his wife has so much money it really doesn’t matter what people do with the songs he has written or write in the future, so I encourage everyone to continue to download his without paying for them.

OMG why don’t people let stuff chill?!?! Leave Keith alone HATERS!!!
Granna says:
Alan & Mark….you both (or you could be the same person) seem jealous or something to feel this much dislike for someone you probably don’t even know. Anyhow, Keith writes the majority of his own music. Brad Paisley said he agreed with Keith. Said it was his job to make the music and not his problem how the fans go about getting it! I’d be willing to bet more artist feel this way but are afraid to say it. But Keith has made his apologies so why keep harpering on it! I don’t download, I want the entire CD in my hand and I will be buying Keith’s when he puts out a new one!
Alan says:
I can’t speak for Mark(we are not the same person), but it seems when a person doesn’t agree it always come back to this jealousy defense. I am not jealous of Keith Urban at all. As you said I don’t even know him. I for one am totally against illegal downloads of music. It is stealing! As stated if you approve of illegal downloads that’s your choice, so steal the songs written soley by Keith Urban all you want. It boils down to how a person was raised I guess. I was taught stealing is wrong, but I know some people were not raised that way.
Cindy says:
Oh please, Alan — Keith was only kidding! You need to lighten up, buddy.
