Danny Gokey Encourages Happiness in New Video

"My Best Days Are Ahead of Me" is an uplifting piece by Danny Gokey, a Top 3 contestant on last year's season of American Idol. He begins the video by singing alone in an empty warehouse while scenes of happy life moments and inspirational quotes flash across the screen. I particularly identify with the statements, "Life is too short to be anything but happy" and "The biggest mistake you make is being afraid to make one." I especially appreciate how the video progresses, with Gokey walking through the city and ending up on a hill overlooking the Nashville skyline at night. I have now lived in Nashville for four years and recognize its rich musical culture and vast opportunity, specifically for people like me who are just entering the working world and trying to make our dreams come true.

I think the video and this song are a great reflection of Danny and the great music he will be making for (hopefully) years to come! Go Gokey!

This video just makes me happy, as does the song.
The video is very interesting; great photography that is a little “in your face” with the flashing signs and pictures.
Danny looks mighty fine in it too.

I love Danny’s debut video for his single, My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me. It really represents who Danny is as a performer. My favorite message is Be Yourself. Everyone Else is Taken. Great concept, great cinematography, great video. If the songs that Danny has previewed on his radio tours are an indication, his album should be really hot.

Wow. What a joyous video and song. Love the upbeat song and messages. Made me happy watching. Interesting concept using that warehouse.

I like the gently in-your-face messages in this, keeps it from being overly sentimental — it’s really pushing you to think all the way through to the closing “Live Now” sign.
Has a great look for Danny Gokey and nice complement to the song, look forward to seeing this video on CMT’s broadcast soon.
