Ryan Bingham Satisfies Crazy Heart's Desire
Ten days from now, Ryan Bingham will be waiting nervously to find out if he won a Golden Globe award for "The Weary Kind." Nominated in the best original song category, "The Weary Kind" was written as a collaboration with T Bone Burnett for Crazy Heart, a new film starring Jeff Bridges as Bad Blake, a fictional country star who was once on top but is now forced to sing in bowling alleys for gas money. This music video helps to show why the song was chosen as Crazy Heart's theme. It really captures a mood of exhaustion and perseverance, and as Bingham performs the tune for a daytime crowd at a sleepy tavern, we get a sneak peek at the movie that inspired it.

T Bone is a musical genius, and blended with Ryan Bingham’s unique song writing makes for a deadly combination.
This song appeals to me on several different levels.

Great song! Makes me want to see the movie. (Bridges should be good in that role — and was that Maggie Gyllenhaal?)
T-Bone is on a hot streak, everything he does turns out well. That Plant-Krauss team-up wasn’t too shabby either!
As for Mr Bingham, this guy is one of the most compelling artists around. His work is incredible!
Peacock Queen says:
This is an awesome song with a haunting melody. I cannot wait to see the movie and hear the rest of the soundtrack. The Washington Post gave the movie rave reviews, which I was surprised because the Post isn’t always kind to the “country” side of pop culture. Anyway, I predict the little boy in the movie is going to be the “break away” star. I still say Bridges looks so much like Kristofferson, it is eerie.
