Help Wanted: Bus Drivers for Country Singers

Posted: December 16th, 2009 at 1:23 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Unemployment continues to be high AND you love country music. What better time to train for a job as a tour bus driver? So sign yourself up for The Celebrity Bus Drivers Academy in early March near Nashville. Then when you're done with the training, there will be a placement service to help you find a job. No guarantees they'll put a rookie in charge of, say, Kenny Chesney's bus. But what a way to make a living. It's probably safe to assume you need a squeaky clean driving record, and that they frown on superfans. And you have to be a bit of a night owl since most acts drive all night and the driver sleeps during the day. But if you like the music, the camaraderie and the ins and outs of the life on the road, this could be the perfect career for you.

Hey? That would be a good job for you Alison. Just think of it as an overgrown minivan. Put one of those soccer ball stickers on the window, and away you go. Since you really don’t need to know much about music to drive a bus, you’d fit right in.

  • Alison W says:

Yeah, the theme is country music. That was a hard one to figure out, I know.

I wish you would play country music instead of reality shows and movies. If I wanted to watch a movie I should watch AMC or a game show I should watch The Game Show Network or a reality show I would watch some other station. Isn’t this CMT (Country MUSIC Television)? Kind of like GAC!!!

Would never be caught dead driving a hillbilly around on a over sized bus. Sorry, that’s just not a bright future.

I currently drive a school bus for local school system and love driving the bus. I am getting some driving experience in now so I can apply for a job like this. I would love the traveling, meeting new people, and most of all driving one of these huge buses. I think it would be a very fun job. Driving is a lot of responsibility, but I really enjoy it. Learning a tour bus would also be a lot of fun.
