Carrie Underwood Gives Fashion Advice in Photos
I love a good celeb photo gallery just as much as the next girl. But what makes this one in Self magazine even better than just run-of-the-mill pretty pictures of outfits I can't afford, is the quotes from Carrie Underwood. She's explaining why she wore what she wore, but her words are sage advice to anyone whose style could use a little more oomph. Like how she talks about color: "Lime green doesn't sound that attractive, especially in a long, flowy dress, but I loved it," and "I felt I'd done enough right that I could afford to take a risk, like wearing bright orange." When it comes to a prestigious event like the Kennedy Center Honors in 2006, Underwood said, "The event wasn't about me, so it was appropriate to wear something understated." But she also has a fashion sense every girly-girl wants to emulate, like when she says, "I like bling. It just looks like Christmas," and "I'm not a pink-pink-pink person, but I love this dress!"

Carrie could wear a potato sack and still look like a million. She is such a beatiful person, inside and out! I am so happy for her success. I loved her from the first moment I saw her during Hollywood week on American Idol, and I voted for her like crazy. (I loved Bo bice, too. He is also an extremely talented vocalist.) Carrie is attractive but if she wore a potato scack she’d look like a hot girl in a potato sack. That’s it. And while Carrie is attractive, she isn’t supermodel level either. She’s better looking than 9 out of 10 women her age, but she’s not quite at the ultra elite status for attractiveness.
A week ago a radio program (not on a country station , though!) did a segment talking about the recently publishe Carrie bikini pics. Two of the hosts thought she was carrying an Arby’s bag, but the other two thought you couldn’t tell. The two who thought Carrie had the arby’s bag thought maybe because she was a hick from the stick’s she wasn’t as sophsticated as Hollywood types, who wouldn’t let that happen. They then asked listeners whether Carrie was hotter or Kim Kardashian was hotter and Kim won the poll.

Well…as far as the Hollywood so called sophisticated type, They didn’t come from Hollywood. Most came from your everyday hometown or hick towns even. Carrie has just as much class as any of the snobs in Hollywood. I don’t think she is a hick.

What I love about Carrie she is confident enough to take risks - she doesn’t follow the crowd with her fashion or music- as a fan I find that refreshing and she’s a role model to know what to do when someone gives you the thumbs down - ignore it !! as simple as that - she is an incredibly beautiful woman - I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but to me Carrie has a grace about her and a sensualness that few can beat - I guess that’s why Getty Editorial has taken over 7,000 pics of her at public functions an award shows - she’s a photographers dream because she has no bad side and photographers and magazines say she’s a dream to work with unlike alot of celebrities - Carrie is very easy to work with, down to earth and very polite. That’s why she has been on the cover and in articles of so many magazines - she surprises with her fashion and makes a garment look great.

I agree Tifany. Hotelmom, your comments are so rude. Carrie is a gorgeous, classy woman who worked hard to make her dreams come true.
It’s obvious she takes care of her body, and realizes she has to be healthy and in shape in order to give an energetic stage show. Carrie got in shape the old-fashioned way, because she knows that so many young girls look up to her, and she doesn’t want them thinking you starve to look healthy.
Carrie always dresses beautifully, and she doesn’t “ket it all hng out” like so many stars do.
As for the Arby’s bag…who cares? She isn’t doing anything an average person wouuldn’t do. At least she eats, unlie many of those Holluwood types!

I mentioned that 2 radio DJs said those things about Carrie, and that 2 other DJs disagreed. I never ever said that I agree with the things being said.
I never suggested she was a hick, unsophisticated, or fat (the Arbys bag comment has nothing to do with weight, it was a radio friendly euphemism for something else that the DJs were discussing - geez!). I was reporting that a radio show was having those debates.

I too think that Carrie is a very beautiful young woman.In my opinion Carrie looks amazing in everything that she wears and she has great taste in the style of clothes she wears.I saw the pictures of her in the bikini and she looked great.I love the way that Carrie keeps herself in such great shape and is not skinny.On the subject of the arby’s bag,everyone that knows anything about Carrie knows that she is a vegatarian.So I would love to know what you think was in that so call arby’s bag.Fact is Carrie is a very beautiful amazing talented young woman and I am glad she chose country music as a career.And oh how awesome this talented young woman can sing.

According to a report in the Ottawa sun, Mike Fisher (he’s a hockey player with the Ottawa Senators) has confirmed that he and Carrie Underwood are engaged to be married. Mike told reporters that he asked Carrie the big question on Sunday while Carrie was visiting.
