Joe Nichols' A Traditional Christmas Rings True
Joe Nichols' A Traditional Christmas always gets me into the holiday spirit. I grew up singing each one of these songs, sometimes as a young caroler going door to door with my church friends -- although our voices were no match for Nichols' smooth baritone. The lush arrangements allow the classic melodies to shine through, too. Although my personal collection of Christmas music is rather small, I've never heard a finer rendition of "Silver Bells," delivered leisurely enough to make Christmas shopping sound like a delightful way to spend a winter weekend. Nichols' rich vocals convey the heritage of country music and the songs themselves are perennial favorites. Needless to say, it has become my own tradition to enjoy this beautiful and festive album every December.

not totally country but i’ve been listening to Chris Tomlin’s Glory In The Highest CD lately, a beautiful reworking of some traditional christmas carols. Plus it was recorded with a live audience.
Can’t wait to go home for the Christmas vacation next week. I’m pretty sure my parent’s place will have plenty of Alan Jackson and George Strait christmas on the atmosphere…

I don’t have this cd. I wonder if I can find it somewhere. I like having a hard copy not downloads.

Great comments Craig! This is my favorite Christmas cd. I absolutely love “The Christmas Song” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. You can buy a hard copy of “A Traditional Christmas” from web sites like Amazon, FYE, Walmart and Best Buy. You may even find it in a Best Buy store (check store availability first).

I love Joe’s wonderfully smooth vocals, and I didn’t know he had a traditional Christmas album. I will have to go to Wally World and get this now! Thanks for letting me know, and thanks for recommending it!
