Luke Doucet's "Blood's Too Rich" for a Boring Video
I find a lot to like in Luke Doucet and the White Falcon's "Blood's Too Rich." It's got a cool indie rock vibe to it, but listen closely and you can hear the country roots in Doucet's guitar playing -- and you can see it when he gives guitar lessons through his Web site. Plus, his vocal phrasing sometimes breaks from rigid timing, relieving the song of any chance of getting boring. The video is certainly not dull, with its oddly surreal bar and a bunch of copycats. I can't decide if the place is cursed or if his band is just weird.

His band is awesome, so I’d go with cursed. Love this song and like the interesting style of the video.
Can’t wait to see Luke and band again live. So good!
Redmaz says:
Great tune, and is part of our setlist. Trivia…in this case what does the White Falcon refer to?
solongsowrong says:
You can hear the Roots, yet it doesn’t sound like what many call Traditional Country. Progression of Country music as it should be done.
Can’t put my finger on the style, Red. Almost sounds like a mixture. I guess I need to research this guy.
Redmaz says:
Obviously heavily influenced by the Blues, and a tinge of Country, but basically a straight ahead Roots Rocker. Check him out on youtube doing “Bloods Too Rich” live where he stretches out on guitar more.
