Rodney Carrington Croons on Christmas Album
It's startling to hear Rodney Carrington croon his way through a new holiday album, Make It Christmas. He sings with a strong, straightforward baritone that is well-served by chestnuts like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "White Christmas" and "Winter Wonderland." If you have loved ones in the military serving overseas this season, there's no way you'll get through "Camouflage and Christmas Lights" without weeping. Luckily he can still crack you up with "The Presents Under the Tree (Better Be for Me)," a jazzy number written by Carrington and possessing a characteristic wit that every downtrodden husband can relate to. If you like orchestral music around this time of year, but nothing too serious, you'll want to unwrap this album early.
