Are You There, God? It’s Me, Chris Young

Chris Young's latest video, "The Man I Want to Be," gives a whole new meaning to the saying, "Here's a quarter. Call someone who cares." In what begins in much the same fashion as Brad Paisley's "Waitin' on a Woman," Young finds himself disgruntled, sitting on a bench next to a perceptive older man. When Young begins to tell him about his love-gone-wrong, the gentleman hands him a quarter to make a special phone call. But here's the kicker: He doesn't want him to call the woman. Instead, he tells Young to call on God. Heeding the older man's words, he proceeds to plead with God to change him into the man he wants to be -- a good man, a do-like-he-should man, a strong man, an admit-when-he's-wrong man and everything else in between. And though I surely don't want to ruin the ending, I think it's safe to say that God answered his call and literally lit his way to love.

Beautiful idea for a true blue country song and so touching. It is wonderful. Old people have so much wisdom and are unselfish in trying to help the “younger” generation learn from their own experiences and mistakes. Country music respects those who came before and this is a classic example of just how wonderful it can be.

I love anything that Chris does. I am so excited to have a new video from Chris and especially the title track to the CD this song is so good and Chris having the amazing vocals that he does delivers this one with such emotion. Amazing job, I bet a lot more people are saying their prayers after watching and listening to this song!

I’m a great fan of Chris Young. I have his CD’s and they are awesome. I hope “Dashboard” and “Rose IN Paradise” becomes singles with videos. Chris Young is going to be another Alan Jackson and George Strait.
