Richie McDonald Gets Cozy on Christmas Album
Christmas music suits Richie McDonald's tender voice as snug as a new winter coat. The former lead singer of Lonestar has stepped out this year with If Every Day Could Be Christmas, a pleasant blend of classics such as "The Christmas Song" and "O Holy Night" and new tunes like "Peterbilt Sleigh" (which the kids might like) and "Blessed Are the Hands That Give" (a reminder of the real reason for the season). Longtime country fans will recognize "Mary Did You Know," while McDonald's elegant original, "Christmas Lights," could evolve into a standard someday. If you're an early riser, you can catch McDonald perform his cozy holiday music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville on Friday (Dec. 4), where he'll be joined by Ricky Skaggs, the Whites and their family. Bundle up, though. Baby, it's cold outside.
