Chip Taylor Video Conveys His Train of Thought
In his nostalgic new video, "Charcoal Sky," esteemed singer-songwriter Chip Taylor reminisces about placing nickels on the rails as a kid and listening to his father chat with the conductors. Taylor sets numerous family stories to music on a new album, Yonkers NY, with one of the two discs bolstered with personal anecdotes. Taylor is most recognized for writing "Wild Thing" and "Angel of the Morning" -- which couldn't be more different -- but throughout his brilliant career he's also placed songs with the likes of Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra and Dusty Springfield. There's also a terrific new Chip Taylor anthology on Ace Records, with dozens of vintage artists offering their own renditions of his work, in case you're in the mood for memories too.

Chip… the other Taylor who’s a singer/songwriter. The one that no one complains about. Also the one who is… and will remain… a legend.

Agree solo. What a great song. Taylor is a genius. Or should I say Chip? Hey? according to some people, cmt is a Pop Country website, and everyone else is ‘hidden’. So where are all the people who always complain about the cmt blogs only being about one or two leading Pop singers now? They should be all about this blog. I guess they’re busy.

Oh I’m sure they are busy…. busy complaining about the other Taylor, instead of searching out music more to their liking.
I know who you’re referring to, about the “hidden” artists. I asked them to explain themselves, after pointing out all kinds “hidden” artists mentioned in these blogs, and they ran away like a scared bug into the woodwork. It’s amazing how fast a lot of these Pop fans disappear from a blog, when you point out how wrong their opinion is.
Since this artist’s article was so hard to find, I doubt if they’ll be responding to this one, either.
