Carrie Underwood Offers a Special "Temporary Home"

Posted: November 17th, 2009 at 10:37 am  |  By: Chet Flippo

The CMT New Music Video Evaluation Team met to screen one new video. It's Carrie Underwood's "Temporary Home," shot live and in HD during her concert before an audience for the CMT show Invitation Only. The show will be telecast on Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Artist: Carrie Underwood
Video: "Temporary Home" Invitation Only Excerpt
Director: Ivan Dudynsky

The song, which Underwood co-wrote, builds around the words "I'm not afraid because I know/This is our temporary home" and traces their impact in the situations of a young boy, a young mother and an old man who is dying.

Panelists' comments: "That's a powerful performance." "She is really good live." "What can I say -- a great voice."

Consensus: "Temporary Home" debuted on CMT in heavy rotation on Nov. 17.

This is such an inspirational song. Carrie sings it from the heart and the emotion comes from the depths of her soul. Her voice is superb and she is a great messenger to spread the word.

I love this song. It’s sung very well and it most likely will go to the top if it goes to a single. I’d love to hear her in concert sometime singing this song. I’ve seen her once in concert in Roanoke, Va and she’s sooo good! She sings from the bottom of her heart and shows such emotion with this song.

One of her best songs….you can hear her emotions in her vocals, and brings me to tears when she sings this song. The video above proves what a powerful artist she is and what a fabulous LIVE performer. There are others who should take note of this….Carrie is a TRUE Female Vocalist!!! She does not need any studio magic to make her voice sound like her recordings. I it is just a beautiful gift that she uses very well! :)

That is one powerful, heartfelt performance. My Mom, Dad and I were all touched by Carrie’s voice and delivery. How true the message in that song is—.

Beautiful song. She is a talented singer who can
perform and sing very well in live. She sangs very well over here in Singapore while she was here for Ion
    opening.
    God bless you, Carrie.

her play on album shows a different carrie..not just the “sass” songs but i believe that this will make her an even better vocalist! we’ve witnessed her unbelieveable range during AI and on her first two albums…but this album will further develop her falsetto and the sudden shift to chest tone which is very difficult to do, and as usual, she proves that she can do it in this video! i love carrie, our true vocalist!:)

Her best live performance of this song! Which is already my all time favorite song off her entire discography. It WILL be a number one single. There is no doubt about it. The core fan reaction has been just tears and tears and endless praise. When this song gets out, it’ll be massive!

some people love her and some people dont…thats okay you cant please everyone, but for those who love her and are inspired and blessed by her, this is why she does what she does, and she knows this is for her fans and not for the people who are trying to rip her to shreds.

carrie is incredible and EVERYTIME she performs she’s so wonderful and she gets better eachtime, i am so proud of her for her accomplishments in country music she has worked hard to earn the respects from the academy and her peers, she keeps growing as a performer and an artist she is an amazing talent and person and i am a”HUGE FAN” and i love her, i thank God carrie is here to stay and she continues to BLESS “HER FANS” with her music…

How can Taylor sleep at night know she stole the FVOTY from this lady with the golden pipes? She’s a spoiled brat, used to getting what she wants, that’s how.

Congratulations Carrie on another great song

A special song. My Dad went home to be with the Lord yesterday at 1:00. He would have been 90 years old on April 2nd. Today, exactly 24 hours later, Temporary Home was playing and I was able to smile. No tears, Dad, no tears. You are in the presence of Jesus now.
