Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift's "Love Story" was named song of the year at the 57th annual BMI Country Awards. The banquet and awards presentation took place Tuesday night (Nov. 10) at BMI's offices on Music Row in Nashville. Swift is the sole writer of "Love Story." Additionally, Bobby Pinson was named BMI's country songwriter of the year for co-writing Sugarland's "All I Want to Do" and "Already Gone," Toby Keith's "She Never Cried in Front of Me" and Josh Gracin's "We Weren't Crazy." Brooks & Dunn were presented the BMI President's awards for their career achievements. Highlighting the evening was a musical tribute to Kris Kristofferson, this year's recipient of the BMI Icon award commemorating his contributions and continuing influence on music.

Featuring Willie Nelson, Patty Griffin and Vince Gill, the tribute included performances of Kristofferson's "Why Me," "Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again)," "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "Me and Bobby McGee." Taylor broke a record with this. She is the first female in history to win back to back ’song of the year’ awards from bmi.

just don’t understand where her talent is, I would love to hear hear vocal range. Taylor sounded like a IDOL contestant who didn’t make it at the awards, at least the 1st song. I think she may need some lessons’s

Um…. Darlene, this blog is about song-”writing”. And apparently Taylor’s showed enough “talent” in that department to receive “Song of the Year” honors … AGAIN! Maybe they will just name it the Taylor Swift Award if she keeps winning it.

I was never so disappointed last night. I cannot beleive this girl won female vocalist over all those talented women. I don’t care if she is 19 this girl cannot sing. I don’t think she deserved entertainer of the year either.
She maybe able to write songs but she can’t son them.

I don’t see how some one who hasn’t been around very long can be “Entertainer of the Year”.I don’t like Taylor Swift and never will. The others that were up for it were more deserving of this award.

Country Music—not what it used to be. It is not talent anymore, just how loud you can sing 3 notes!!! Taylor Swift is an embarressment. She wouldn’t make it on American Idol and definitly wouldn’t stand up to the great country women singers in the past. Not one time does she hit a note right on. Who is making the money on her??

I just can’t beleive that show last night,,a want to be singer won over all those wonderful singers,,she has not been around long enough to get entertainer of the year much less be in the same catagory as them,,,she makes me want to plug my ears up when she sings,,I change the station when her songs come on,,can’t stand her voice,,,the worst country music show,,there wasn’t much country about it,,,need to get back to the way it used to be,,hated it,,,

Taylor Swift, what a big disappointment in the name of country music. The CMA is definitely not what it once was. And what about Justin Moore…He has a number one song and should of been included in the lineup.I noticed on the radio the next day that the dj’s were playing all of the nominees songs and I never did hear Taylor Swift mentioned. What does that say? I know that the old country greats are very disapointed. Taylor Swift does not belong in country music and is a pop singer!
