Jake Owen in Three, Two, One

Jake OwenIt feels like the whole world is counting down the days until the CMA Awards. I know I am. There are seven days left, as of right this minute. And starting today (Nov. 4), Jake Owen is going to be helping country fans get ready for the Nov. 11 fete-of-all-country fetes on ABC.com.

They'll do this daily five-minute Webisode thing called The Countdown to Country Music's Biggest Night. He'll do some behind-the-scenes stuff, bring us exclusive updates and get the scoop from some of the biggest stars up for the most coveted awards. How does he feel about this cool diversion from his normal work schedule? "It's cool to be able to hang out with my artist buddies and show off Nashville," he told me. "This year is a big year for me, too, because I'm nominated for best new artist. So hosting the show just builds up the anticipation for the CMAs."

And it should be noted that somebody at ABC must love Owen because he hosted a similar gig for them before the broadcast of the CMA Music Festival. Owen will do one a day now through Nov. 12. Today is all about showing off the lovely sights at Fifth Avenue and Broadway in Nashville and hanging with Carrie Underwood, who says she has her fingers crossed for her big night. And tomorrow's Webisode will find Owen taking viewers on a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. So stay tuned and keep counting down.

Jake Owens I think you’re one of the better male singers of today’s Country music and I love the way you sing about a Woman in your songs. Musically since the guitar is so very flirty in Cherry on Top. I ROCK to Eight Second Ride everyday and sure hope you release the two songs Anything for You and Tell Me from your Easy Does It recordings. Your sound is REAL good and I am so pleased I purchased your music. Good Luck with your nomination.
