Does Keith Urban Ever Stop Smiling?
Looking through a photo gallery from Keith Urban's little gig Friday (Oct. 30) at a Verizon Store near Nashville, it looks like he has a permanent smile on his face. I know he has a lot to be happy about (cute baby, lovely wife, a new single racing up the charts). And I know he loves playing live, because I've seen him in countless venues and he always seems to be having a good ol' time. So maybe he's just one of those glass-is-half-full kind of guys. But now that I have seen the pictures, I want details. Did he play the parking lot? How crowded was it? What time did fans start lining up? Did people come from far away places? Was there a traffic jam on the streets leading to the store? How long did he play? What did he play -- new stuff or old stuff? And how did this mini-show compare to one of his elaborate arena shows? If you were there, give us some scoop, please.

I was there. It was about a 30 minute event and he took questions & requests from the audience and even signed a few things for people. He sang “I’m In” off of Defying Gravity, “Only You Can Love Me This Way”, “Tonight I Wanna Cry”, and then one off of his album with the Ranch,”Walking The Country” and the little boy that asked him to sing it was asked by Keith to join him on stage and he did. It was very cute! The last song he sang was “Stupid Boy”. We got there about 1:30 and it was supposed to start at 2:00, but didn’t start til about 2:30. He just played in the VW parking lot. We didn’t have any trouble with traffic before, but afterwards traffic was pretty crowded.
It was acoustic, which was very nice. I have seen Keith live several times, and even saw him at the Opry later that night. I guess the biggest difference between this and one of his tour shows was that this was shorter, but it was more intimate. He is very committed to his fans and I think this was a wonderful thing for him to do. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. You are right, he does smile alot and seems like he is in such a good place in every aspect of his life right now so good for him! He deserves it and to be EOTY!!!

I was there also. It was AWESOME!!! I really think I enjoyed it more than the opry. It was so informal, kinda like being in your back yard with him. He was so laid back and it was really intimate. I got here a little after 1:00, but he didn’t come on until around 2:40. I loved every minute of it. He does deserve to be Entertainer of the Year!!!!!

Watched the whole thing on Coolsprings website. It was wonderful. The 12 year old who sang Walking the Country with Keith was awesome! Great mini-concert.

I watched on the website also, and again Keith Urban proved his love and appreciation for his fans and his music. Looked like so much fun! He definitely should be Best Entertainer, Best male Vocalist and Best Album of the year. His talent just continually amazes!

Keith does have a beautiful smile. He can light up a room, or a dismal day. Just the sound of his voice is enlightning. What can I say. Keith is the real deal, both inside and out. Keep smiling Keith, I LOVE IT. I hope you walk away with all the awards at the cma’s. If anyone deserves them, it is you. You have an amazing talent.
