For This Duet, "Staying Together" Is Worth It
Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent's duet, "Staying Together," lets you eavesdrop on a tender moment between these two loveless lovers. Their reasons for staying together are not for their own hearts but rather for the family. Consequently they're left to wrestle heavy hearts weighed down by the baggage, sorrow and pain of a love that's long expired. You can see the sadness in Watson's eyes and hear it in his seamless vocals. Vincent, too, thrills with her powerful voice as she proves mighty convincing with each evocative note. Even the steel guitar weeps for these two unfortunate souls. I suppose when it comes to a true heartbreaker of a country song, in their own words, "There ain't nothin' sadder, there ain't nothin' colder."

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for playing the GREAT music of Gene Watson. It is SO good to FINALLY be able to hear some TRUE TRADITIONAL COUNTRY music on your channel. I think Gene is the best singer out there and deserves all of the attention he can get.

Found this video one night while looking for new music. Awesome stuff. From what I have heard from his new album, he understands completely what Country music should be.
True Country music is right here under every person’s nose who come to this blog site, yet how many of those who come here complaining all the time about what has happened to Country music, will take the time to even read this blog or make an effort to check Gene’s music out?

STILL Loving this Video!!! Thank you CMT for giving us traditional country music lovers something to enjoy. Not to take away from the younger generation (Taylor Swift etc) doing what they do but it’s not the same as music like Gene Watson makes. THere’s real vocal ability here that needs no fancy dance moves. Just raw emotion in their voices and I miss hearing that.

Have been loving Gene for years and years and we saw Rhonda at Eglin AFB, Niceville FL when she first started singing. It was free for the military and have loved her ever since. The two of them together is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD. I try to go see Gene when he is near. We live in Crestview FL and he has been here several times. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. Their voices blend so well and being able to see the video, I am out looking to buy the video, record, album or anything they do together.
