Jason Isbell Sets Stage for "Cigarettes and Wine"
"Cigarettes and Wine" finds Jason Isbell in a rough time of his life after meeting and losing the girl that made him feel right, and he tells the whole tale from beginning to the heart-wrenching end when she leaves him "Alone with this bottle of pills/And the last of my youth." It's a beautiful thing in that even though it's sad, he's not sorry about falling for her and doesn't want to wish her memory away. Check out this black-and-white video, filmed live at a Shoals Theater concert in Isbell's hometown of Muscle Shoals, Ala.
