No Slutty Halloween Costumes for Taylor Swift
"All the girls in our school kind of used Halloween as an excuse to take all their clothes off," Taylor Swift recalls about the upcoming holiday. "My best friend Abigail and I have always been sort of anti-teeny-tiny, little costumes." I love that. Even at my age, I still know women who insist on being not just the nurse, the cat, the teacher or the hippie, but the slutty nurse, cat, teacher and hippie. As for the girls Swift knew in school, she added, "They would tan weeks in advance so that they could bare it all on Halloween. I'm like, 'That's not the point.' You're supposed to be scary." Last year Swift was Chewbacca and had the special-edition costume. No word on what she'll be for Halloween this year. But considering her budding romance with Twilight star Taylor Lautner, maybe she should be Bella to his Jacob.

She saves that for her music for her celebrity playlist over on Itunes. They have her top 18 songs that she chose for her IPOD and she gave reasons why she chose them. There is ONLY two country songs on the list, the rest or POP artists and rappers, 50 Cent made the list but only two country artist.
Guess she wants to look cool to the POP fans that gor to Itunes. Not even a George on the list when he took her on his first tour.

This is one of the many reasons I think Taylor is so amazing, slutty costumes are just slutty costumes, its not like they make you cool or anything. And being a 19 year old star and still not wearing that kind of costumes is awesome! It shows that not all young stars do the same thing and that Taylor sticks to her values even when theres pressure on her to go against them. I think those kind of costumes are stupid, and shouldn’t be allowed in school anyways, and I know I would never wear them. Taylor is one of my biggest role models for me if she wore them I still wouldn’t but I know quite a few of her fans that would wear them if she did.

I love lots of popular music artist which I know is just ‘popular music’ from various genres, not a genre in-itself. Carrie has ALL her clothes on in her new video. What does this blog or any of the posts in it have anything to do with Carrie? And as far as the only comment about her being “crossover” on this blog is from mahaila who defends Taylor as much as she does Carrie. She’s certainly not talking about Carrie in this blog. She’s more annoyed that Taylor has only two country acts on her i-pod list and George Strait isn’t one of them.
Of course there are people who just don’t like Taylor and will say anything about her, but one thing I haven’t heard from people who actually are CU’s fans about Taylor is that she’s trashy. MOST say, she doesn’t sing well or write that well for that matter, BUT SHE IS A GOOD ROLE MODEL FOR KIDS. So, how that translates to CU or anything to do with her fans on this blog is just made up by you.
By the way, all of the songs/videos of Carrie’s that have crossed over weren’t re-mixed. They are the exact same song and mix that is played on country radio and is on her album.
If Taylor believes in her music (which I think she does), then she needs to leave it as is.

Flower - barb b is right. You’re just obsessed. Carrie is the most modest person on the planet. Does she wear trendy cute stuff? Absolutely! I’m guessing that dress that was displayed in the Hall of Fame was wayyyy to short - HA!
With that said, Taylor is also modest. I may not be a fan of her musically - yet (I do like a couple of her songs like “Tim McGraw”, “Our Song” and “Fifteen”), but overall not a huge fan of her musically, BUT….. the girl is a NICE girl who carry’s herself well and is NOT slutty. She did not look slutty on DWTS. People just like to be hateful and attack people personally. It’s one thing if you are sincerely speaking the truth about a concern, but come one, no one actually thinks Taylor or Carrie are slutty.
Why does “I don’t like her music” or “I prefer her music to …” have to turn in to “she’s a slut”? Come on people!!! Although Taylor seems like a great girl and a good role model, I don’t see why her Halloween costume should be the topic of a blog. WhItile it is admirable that she wants to remain grounded and clean, what she wears is her business. It almost seems as if she is paying too much attention to being a role model instead of being her own person.
When it comes down to it, the job of the parents should be to raise their children and to teach them good morals and values; Taylor Swift does not have that power and never will.
Nor do I understand what Carrie Underwood has to do with this blog? She is a great role model as well; she has her own charity, and stays out of the tabloids and Hollywood life. Sure, her outfits aren’t always 100% clean, but she’s 26 years old for goodness sakes! She’s old enough to make her own descions about what is apropriate and what is not.
Just because she showed skin in CC does not mean she is the next Britney. She’s not pregnat, never been to rehab, and has never done a striptease or gotten almost naked in front of thousands…Britney has done all of these. She keeps herself out of trouble and is actually aware that people don’t want to her about her love life or political veiws; she knows she is a musician and entertainer, and it is refreshing that she doesn’t give out more than we need to know.
While Taylor seems like a geniune, authentic person in a world of pesudo “nice” celeberties, she has a lot to learn about being in the public eye. People don’t want to hear her bash her ex boyfriend on nationaal tv and whine about how he dumped her for months. People also don’t want to hear about her every little thing from her Halloween costume to her “reaction” to being nominated for awards.
At her age that may seem an appropriate way to come off authentic, but to others it seems a bit too calculated. It’s seems as if she feeels people “deserve” to know her every thought, move, and reaction, when really it can become too much.
People should leave these ladies alone; they are entertainers, but first and foremost individuals who should be allowed to make even the smallest descisions without others discussing their merits or postions as role models at every turn.

Maybe if you wrote anything worth reading that did not insult Carrie Underwood at every turn you wouldn’t have to keep repeating yourself. Carrie is a fantastic role model, and she doesn’t calculate every little move to try and please other people. She only been in the business four years, yet she has already gone to Africa twice, started her own charity, and done work with Idol Gives Back, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and done Public Service for the Huamne Society of The United States. She has been to Iraq to perform for the men and women overseas as well. She has raised thousands of dollars through donating items for charity also.
She has given numerous free concerts in Singapore, California and Fort Campbell, and she about to give one with Brad Paisley on November 10th. She makes her fan club parties free to anyone who attends- many artists charge fees for these, plus the thirty dollars or so it costs to join a fan club in the first place.
Regardless of what you feel or think you know about Carrie, she appears to be a very giving and selfless person. I don’t know why you feel the need to tear down someone who does so much for others.
Carrie has worked extremely hard for everything she has, and she did not have anything handed to her. She was under pressure to perform well from millions of people- most of whom did not know her. They would go on message boards weeek after week calling her terrible, fat, untalented, ect. She earned the record deal because of her talent- not because of some TV show.
After American Idol she was thrust into the national spotlight with no experience. She had to make her album in six months, plus do all the press and honor contractual agreements she made when she signed up for the show.
She did not know anyone in the business, and was under extreme judgement because of the American Idol label. “She’s just another wanabee” or, “she got everything handed to her” were probably statements she heard by record labels, critics, and millions of total strangers for years. She still has to fight those sterotypes, which is something many established stars never have to deal with.
Just because Taylor got her deal differently does not mean she is any better, worse, or less manufactured than Carrie. Both ladies have worked extremely hard to get where they are, and it is sad and disgusting that you want to tear one down to build up another.
