Country Music Lyrics Are Picture Perfect

I am always trying to find ways to surround my family with country music. Especially the lyrics of country music. And I have found a way to do it: with a Sugarboo Designs picture frame that literally surrounds them with lyrics. When I saw this frame at a little shop by my house, Vintage Charm, I knew I had to have it. Impulsive? Yes. Expensive? Totally. But I have absolutely no buyer's remorse because this hand-painted frame feels like it is hugging my kids with the sentiments that I wish for them each day.

It's hard to see from this little picture, but the lyrics around my picture say, in the words of Lee Ann Womack, "I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance."

This has always been one of my favorite songs. But now that I SEE it every day in my kitchen, I will always remember that this is how hopeful I feel for my children. In the everyday moments of life, when I am reminding them to pack their book bags, put their laundry away, don't eat in the family room, rake the leaves, practice fiddle, fill out permission slips and run this coffee cake over to the neighbor, I rarely find ways to fit "I hope you dance" into my litany of orders. It's not like I can say, "I hope you studied enough for your algebra test, and oh by the way, I also hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean."

So this frame does it for me. I hope for as long as it hangs in my home, pouring good thoughts around this little picture, that it will never let me forget the big picture.

Really? You are always trying to surround your family with Country Music? Even if they don’t like it? I seem to recall a while back that someone in your family was listening to your Pop Country music(I think it was Urban), and seemed very disgusted with it stating “this is country music?” Remember that blog?. So instead of enlightening this family member about all of today’s Country Music, and how Pop Country was just a very little part of today’s overall Country Music scene, you chose not to. I don’t recall you saying anything to him about today’s Roots Country music. You certainly didn’t say you did in the blog, and that seems like something very important to overlook. So now he’s like the thousands or millions of people who may or may not listen to Pop Country, but continue to complain about it. I guess you, and your family are just part of the same old story, same old song and dance.

He rides though the night down a lost highway through a hole he made in his vein to a plastic place were desperate dies on a dirty street called shame. How is that for lyrics.

Yeah, hadn’t been here for a while, but I see cmt and Alison deleted my post without defending themselves again. I know it’s hard to do with when the facts are right here on the cmt blogs. More total disrespect for music coming from A.B. This isn’t the first time she hasn’t stood up for herself.
