Garth Brooks Talk About Fan Love

Posted: October 23rd, 2009 at 11:44 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Garth BrooksFirst his unretirement. And now this. Garth Brooks was inducted into the Oklahoma State University Alumni Hall of Fame at their homecoming parade on Saturday (Oct. 17). Brooks called himself the "old guy" at the news conference and talked about how the fans of his music are what helped lure him out of retirement. "The sweetest love in the world is somebody that looks at you, doesn't know you, but believes in you almost as much as your mom did," he said. So, he obviously completely understands me. He ended the day by talking music. Specifically, the football spirit song "Cowboys Forever," saying, "That's what I am, and that's what I became today."

I’d say greed lured him out of retirement

I agree, it has to be about greed. If it were about the fans, he would be going to them, not making them come to Vegas to see him. He can just sit there in front of a buffett table, wait until showtime and waddle out on stage with a guitar. No band to pay or anything.

I belive Garth’s intentions were honest, hes doesnt need money, but he loves performing , this way he can perform and be a father to his kids.

I dont see why some people feel the need to knock artists, Im guessing they feel it makes their favorite artist look better.

Garth doesnt have a greedy bone in his body..and he certainly doesnt need the money..maybe his desire is for a low key personal experience with his audience..He has done the greatest show on earth..he cant beat that..And if you have never been to one of Garth’s “old” concerts then you dont know.He spent years going to his fans over and over..doing extra concerts according to the demand. Perhaps he just wants to slow down a bit..What is wrong with that? And sports people come out of retirement all of the time. Garth was retired for years, true to his word, his girls are older and note he WILL be home with them..So I for one, am thrilled..I hope he puts out a cd of one of his acoustical concerts..I will be first in line to buy it.

I think it is awesome that Garth Brooks will return. His audience has sure missed his voiced. How admiral to retire to stay home with his children while they were younger. I feel like it would be a waste for Garth not to give the world another listen to his God-given voice! I applaud you Garth!

Well, personally i am happy that he has returned but disappointed that he will not be touring. I have never seen him in concert and cannot fly to see him in Vegas.. If he was for the Fans he should be touring to honor us for waiting for so long for him to return.
I do think money has something to do with it.. the girls will be leaving for college soon.. and WE ALL know how expensive that is.
