Carrie Underwood's Love Life: His Story

Posted: October 22nd, 2009 at 10:55 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Carrie UnderwoodUsually, we only get to hear about a country singer's love life from the country singer. But now, thanks to this little story in Us magazine, we get to hear his side of the story from Carrie Underwood's hockey-playing boyfriend Mike Fisher. Fisher, who plays center for the Ottawa Senators, said he and Underwood always find a way to make things work even though their schedules are hectic. The two met at a concert in Toronto about a year ago. And he apparently has an advance of her new album, Play On, because he's already picked a favorite track -- "Temporary Home." He said, "I like it when she sings a good rock song." Fisher also gushed about how hard Underwood works, saying, "She doesn't get too many days off -- a lot less days off than I get. She's always going. She's talented and she's getting rewarded for it. That's good to see."

Temporary Home isn’t a rock song.

The article was actually from the Ottawa Senators website where Mike did an interview on there and the part about liking when she sings a good rock song was referring to something else completely different from his comment about “Temporary Home” being his favorite song on the album.

lol@swilly, but Temporary Home could be considered a power pop/rock ballad.

I luv Carrie and hope she’s happy.Incidentally Cowboy Casanova moved from #6 to #5 on Billboards Country Songs Chart and this is prerelease of her Album.I can imagine what “Play On” is going to do on the chart. It could very well go #1 out of the box.Everything so far has been great.

@swilly - If Alison picked the story from US magazine, then it’s not her fault it was misinterpreted from the video on the Ottawa Senators website. Shame on US for not getting it right in the first place.

I think you could categorize Temporary Home as a power ballad. Great song - hope it does well.

LOL, this is a fun thread, how unusual, loving it. So they got the song wrong, as carrie fans we know what it is. Good blog Alison, and thank you.
I love all that I have heard from the cd, which is small except CC, power ballad? Whatever it is I will love it.

So glad Carrie has met someone. Mike sounds like a wonderful guy. I hope they stay happy because life is so short and Carrie deserves the best! Thanks for the blog! I love Temporary Home, also. Beautiful song! I love when Carrie sings a good rock song, too!!! Counting the days until we can buy Play On!!!

I also agree that Carrie and Mike make a cute couple.I do hope these two can find the time to see each other. But I am sure each one of them will find time for each other.I also agree that Play On is going to do great right out of the box.Carrie has a smash hit on her hands. There is not a song that Carrie can not sing well and make a hit out of it.That is how great Carrie is as a singer.Nov3rd can not get here soon enough.
