Megan Mullins Joins "She Wolf" for Saturday Night Live

Megan Mullins and ShakiraSince I can't get enough of Kristen Wiig's hilarity, I always make a point to record Saturday Night Live each weekend. This past Saturday (Oct. 17) was no exception, and I was especially looking forward to seeing the musical performance by singer-songwriter, Shakira. As I was watching her interesting "She Wolf" number, I was most intrigued by a familiar face singing backup and playing fiddle. "That's Megan Mullins," I said, surprised to see her.

An extraordinary musician, Mullins began her musical journey when she was just over a year old and now plays a variety of instruments, including fiddle, viola, mandolin and accordion, to name a few. Her award-winning talents have landed her a record deal, and just this year, she released single, "Long Past Gone." But what I find most intriguing about her talent is her ability to adapt to the different styles of music she is playing. One minute, she is joining Alabama's Randy Owen on CMT's Studio 330 Sessions, and the next, she's singing backup and rocking out to pop icon Shakira on Saturday Night Live. And just look who she gets to stand next to at the closing of the show -- of course, Kristin Wiig.

Megan keeps getting all these gigs touring, except the one she really deserves… headlining her own show! If you want to see more, you can lookup Shakira on YouTube and find Megan also backing her up on recent performances on “Dancing With The Stars”, “Jimmy Kimmel”, “America’s Got Talent”, and the “ALMA Awards”. Also, check out Megan’s own YouTube channel (meganmullins10) to see some of her cover tune home movies, including songs by the Beatles, the Eagles, Dolly Parton, Dwight Yoakum and a few more.
